Participant3/16 ‐ Arts and crafts
Our friend Dave has a absolutely stunning house that is normally completely secluded within their wooded lot. Their house was custom-built to complement these woods and both reflect and look out upon the beauty, a key component of the Arts and Crafts movement. Dave also happens to be a master Azalea gardener and visiting when the blooms are at their peak is simply out of this world.
Dave is also an all-around good guy and tonight I had a great excuse to sit down for a beer with him!

I love taking my kids to Tosche Station in Springfield (Huntsman and Fairfax County Parkway) where we normally pick up Magic cards and sometimes gifts for friends. They have a decent selection of comic books and other collectibles. Glad to have them in the neighborhood! [ATTACH=CONFIG]28751[/ATTACH]

Participant2/17 – Church Steeple
As others have mentioned, I was surprised at how challenging it was to find a church with a steeple. However, when I found it I was able to get a three-for-one shot with a LFL and a Monument bonus! This is Sydenstricker UMC in Springfield across the street from the Historic Sydenstricker schoolhouse and attendant Little Free Library.

Silas Burke house in Fairfax County, VA
Here lived Lt. Col. Silas Burke (b.1796–d.1854) and his wife, Hannah Coffer. Burke, for whom Burke’s Station on the Orange and Alexandria Railroad was named, served as a director of the railroad and the Fairfax Turnpike Company. An innkeeper and farmer, Burke was elected president of the Fairfax Agricultural Society in 1850.
