Hello everyone, I moved away in 2014, some of you might remember me. Anyway, I’ll be in Vienna again for vacation in a couple weeks. Looking forward to maybe seeing some folks at Cafe Amouri or maybe downtown at Swings. Cheers!

Oh, how I missed everyone on the Forum. Hope everyone is well. I took a quick look and saw what was up and thought I’d share what my Velo Orange looks like these days. A little different as the roads down in ‘Bama are a little rough! Here I was riding some utility trails on our red clay. No more shiny fenders and rear rack. Oh, and 42mm tires. Having a tough time selling that rear rack down here. Rock on guys. [For some reason it’s displaying as a tiny pic, just click on it]

Sooo going to miss y’alls ;) Everyone in this community has meant the world to me and getting started biking as well as being comfortable in all types of roads and trails. I certainly will take what I learned here and apply it to the small bike community in Birmingham. I have to admit that I was a little misty eyed on Tuesday where I did my last bike commute. Keep up the great work everyone, sometimes it may feel like BikeDC has its problems but I assure you we have it so good around here.

    Keep the rubber side down.

Thanks for the post. But wow! I mean no disrespect to the victims here but just half a bottle of wine? C’mon……I was thinking at least 3 1/2

First, 70 degrees is not hot!! I agree with most on the BB being the issues. It’s most likely the cups not being tight. This same issue and instances you describe happen to me a couple of times a year. Spokes out in Vienna overhauled mine recently but did a teflon tape around the threads (I’m guessing) to help prevent creaks and water from getting inside the bb just a bit more. Other thing is pedals, just remove them and regrease. If it’s truly the drivetrain I’d be willing to put money down that one of these tasks will be the fix.

Should be a great morning tomorrow. I plan to wear shorts even perhaps maybe! Gotta love the month of May already.

Seeing Fast and Friendly Dave more often these days, saw Dickie as usual today too. Great morning for a ride and seeing rider numbers pickup again with the warm weather.

Nice, yeah, he’s quite the hunter but looks pretty nice. He doesn’t seem to stand just next to the trail as bikes pass.
