You seem to have a private group? Can you distribute the passcode to your team mates?

ParticipantTeam captains,
Please logon to Strava, create a new club, post a link to that club here, and encourage your other members to join. Here’s mine:
Team 7: Rock Ridge Riders
Anyone want to make a logo?ronwalf
ParticipantCold, tired, and gusty head winds, but it was still nice to be back on the bike.
Also, I got handle bar mirrors for Chirstmas, so I spent half the ride trying to get them adjusted. I already like them better than the glasses-mount mirror I tried, but it’ll be a while before it becomes a reflex to check them.

ParticipantI’ve only biked south of the Anacostia river once (WAGBRAD II). The route took us straight down Southern Ave. I was dead tired and wanted to walk, but we had kids cheering us up the hills. I used to bike to work from Greenbelt to DC by following the Anacostia tributary trails, then jumping on Route 1 near the MD-DC border. That was also fine.
It looks like that section of DC is really well connected across the river (South Capital, 11th street, and Sousa). I don’t know those bridges well, but Google Maps says they all have cycling facilities.

Not only is it patriotic, but there is a physics joke in it as well. I’m curious to see if anyone gets it
I’m not one for speed limits on trails, if they post one measured as significant fraction of c, I’m not going to complain.

So naturally I asked him if he was ok but no response.
Thank you for stopping! A few years ago, I watched at least 5 people pass a migrant worker who was retching on the trail after being mugged. More probably passed him before he was in my line of sight. Heck, I shut it out of my mind and passed him before turning back. You stopping to ask him is not just “natural!”

ParticipantI’m at 2100 for the year, so maybe 2150 or 2200 by year’s end. If I can match that next year with a second child, I’ll be quite happy.

ParticipantI just got recognized in the hall not for biking (which is common at UMCP), but for producing that funky animation of it.

Maybe I should have mentioned this earlier- but every Strava Athlete has a “Athlete Number” that is used for tracking purposes- Ron might need that for development.
My current plan is to manage it via the club interface. We’ll create a new club for each team (FreezingSaddles A-???), and participants will join their assigned club.

ParticipantI’m unclear on what baggage is, or why it needs a long discussion. Does removing that bullet change anything?

In other words, the current bikearlington team cannot be a defacto team.
The Endomondo challenge had both individual and team leader boards. I was proposing using the member lists of the BikeArlington club plus the competing teams to create the individual leader board. This lets people compete in the individual leader board even after the start of the challenge.
It doesn’t have to be the BikeArlington Club either – that just seems the easiest, since it seems to already have many of the forum members.

People are asking where to sign up, so I am bumping the summary of where we are at.
I’m just beginning to poke at the code a bit. Here’s my suggestion: Have teams managed as Strava clubs. I can pull the membership (and more importantly, id numbers) programmatically through the Strava APIs.
Also, would anyone mind having everyone in the BikeArlington Strava club be a de-facto participant? That would make the individual scoring and prizes easy, especially for those who don’t find a team.

Ronwall, can a challenge be built in STAVA? Are you volunteering to do it?
Yes and yes, though there’s no guarantee of the leader board working before the 1st.
