ParticipantI apologize for not having a bike that can handle tires >28mm (and the accompanying ice and snow). I apologize for being at S-1

ParticipantSpeaking of caves, I’m considering replacing the 30+ year old metal shed in the back yard with a bike shed (which is a baaaaaaad term to search for on the internet), and was wondering if anyone has dealt with any local custom shed builders? I have not the handiness nor the time to build my own, and would be interested in any input other folks might have. I am at S-1 until said shed gets replaced.

Just came up short of 5k this year, so my goal is 5k for next year.
I won’t be repeating the TdF trip this year, but I’m shooting for more climbing, though getting out to the mountains will be just as difficult next year as it was this year. I planned to ride Weather mountain at least 6-7 times, only made it once.
Two big goals: I do plan on riding Skyline drive over two days, southbound on a Saturday, and Northbound the next Sunday. And actually riding my bike and not walking up Coxey Brown Rd.
Well, I made 5,721 miles in ’14. Climed 82k more feet than last year, and the Skyline Double was awesome. Though I rode out near Coxey Brown (on the Civil War century), I did not get a chance to challenge it in ’14. And because I drove the G37 less than the Synapse, the G was traded in two weeks ago for a vehicle that could better haul the Synapse around (and has an automatic transmission so my wife can also drive it).

ParticipantHrm, I think I’ll ride to both tomorrow, one can never have enough coffee rides in a morning.

ParticipantSounds like fun!

ParticipantWife got me one of these for Christmas. Needless to say it will allow me to power my team to victory for FS2015!

Here’s a picture I took in Ottawa. Feel Free to modify and use at will (i.e. Royalty-free release for the lawyer types).PeteD
ParticipantWent to France with Custom Getaways for the TdF. Other than trips like that (Giro/Vuleta/Marmotte/etc), they don’t do many other things, though they’re the travel partner for the 2015 World Championships in Richmond.
I also know that Thompson Bike Tours has more varied rides, and has a better updated website. A friend went on their tour at the same time I was on mine, his experience was more biking intensive and less sight-seeing.

Nice ride. My version is 30 miles from Rehoboth West, near where the Breakwater Trail to Lewes starts. Just be aware the wind can be punishing. I got my only case of hypothermia on that ride one January.
Was thinking of doing a Dog’s Head Loop before Christmas. Start at the pub on Rehoboth Ave, then ride to the Brewery for a tasting, and then back for lunch.
