I don’t think we have this problem plus I would imagine Freezing Saddles is small fries but something to be aware of–no reusing the Strava API key for multiple apps!
We use an API key for Strava that is unique and only used for Freezing Saddles, not shared with any other apps.

ParticipantI’m pretty happy with the system – it seems to have encouraged people to ride more regularly, and it has made it possible for people who don’t crush the competition via riding 300 miles a week to contribute to team performance significantly.

ParticipantI’m regretting that I did not manage to organize any in-person hackathons for Freezing Saddles Technology this year, but I’ve been buried under the for-profit work I’m on the hook for this season. I’m way behind on the book I’m writing (about Docker) as well… and now with COVID-19 it is not a good idea to do an end-of-season tech meetup.
There’s always next year!

There’s something odd about the weekly chart. The blue spikes are team 12.

ParticipantCould folks check again about whether their loop count is accurate or not? We’ve made some significant fixes to fetching segments that should grab many more of the segments that did not get counted the first time around.

ParticipantI did a complete streets meander of my neighborhood, Arlington Heights, when I found it.

ParticipantI found a (new to me) wormhole between a cul-de-sac on 5th St S and S Garfield St in my neighborhood tonight… I’ve lived here for 20 years and never noticed this one.

I would be happy to do so…however, my locale makes that tough, though I did volunteer to sponsor Dirty Biker. Hmmmm.
My issue, however, is the date being used if no snow day….5th is not correct, 26th is.
That’s easy enough to fix:

Done! On Michigan day no less…

.. the precipitation aspect of the data is a touch optimistic. It might be worth only flagging a snow ride if the data says snow and it has a non-zero accumulation. I’ll run some numbers.
If a snowflake hit my face, I want it to count as riding in the snow!

ParticipantLast night I ate Impossible Tacos at Farmers Fishers Bakers at Georgetown Harbor. Salt bombs which were appreciated given my bike activity for the day.
I have such a love hate relationship with the Founding Farmers restaurants. The terrible post review was deserved, but I like the cocktails they make and the food verges on really tasty. It’s a bit like going to a Guy Fieri restaurant. They are both flashy, but surprisingly do reasonable job of accommodating vegans.

I think the ultimate individual “winner” of FS2020 is he or she who has the most points per mile AND rides every day.
We have a leaderboard that can be used for that!

Nobody has offered to sponsor a pointless prize for this leaderboard this year – I won the “most efficient” prize my first year riding (2017)!

ParticipantCould folks double-check their Loopy rankings now please? We’ve fixed some of the synchronization issues that had freezingsaddles.org showing fewer segments than were reported in Strava.

ParticipantOooh! I was going to ask about Capital Bikeshare, and since the consensus seems to be to call them 2″ tires whether they are the 1.95″ or the other ones, I’m going to tag all my #CABI rides as #FSrealsuppleride2 also!
