I’m very pleased to announce that the Freezing Saddles web site now has weather data, sourced from the Dark Sky API, thanks to merlin!

This was the most difficult issue that we faced, since Weather Underground sunset their API last February we have been without current weather data.

Congratulations! I was hoping you’d find a way to get that back.

699 hours in the snow? Did I miss that? Or does that include our ExPats in Minnesota and Michigan?

.. the precipitation aspect of the data is a touch optimistic. It might be worth only flagging a snow ride if the data says snow and it has a non-zero accumulation. I’ll run some numbers.

If a snowflake hit my face, I want it to count as riding in the snow!

    Good news, bad news.

Good news: we should be OK for next season.

Bad news: the world’s second most most valuable company just bought the weather data source for BAFS and announced it’ll shut down the API.
