ParticipantHello Team 18 – I am a FS newbie, hoping to find motivation to ride in winter conditions. So far, so good. I missed 3 days earlier this month due to travel and family commitment, but back at it every day since then. Like others, had injuries derail my riding last year so I’m grateful to be able to ride now but won’t be a hyper-miler. My bicycling history includes bike messenger work in Manhattan during my teen years, bike-packing in the Rockies and NorthEast, circumnavigating South Korea by bicycle, and a cross-USA ride (Southern route, San Diego to St Augustine – happy to talk, Ken). I’ve ridden the GAP once and loved it – would do it again. I’m a part-time adjunct at GMU and otherwise keep busy pursuing new interests and with volunteer work, including helping out at Phoenix Bikes in Arlington.
I am interested in how you all keep your toes warm – that’s been my greatest challenge so far.
Go Team 18!

ParticipantI’m happy to be on a team with others in or near my zip code.
Newbie questions:
1. do I need to take any action myself to get assigned to a team?
2. how do i discover my team assignment?
3. When i registered, i said i’d volunteer to help assign riders to teams–lemme know if you need me and how to help
thanks!

ParticipantHello FS25 Friends, I’m Mike, an FS newbie, but not a newbie to bicycling, having learned bike survival skills as a kid in NYC many years ago, including a couple years as a bike messenger in Manhattan. Since then have enjoyed mostly road biking and, more recently, gravel. I enjoy riding in cooler weather and hope FS25 will increase my motivation and miles during this winter. See you out there!
