03/18/2024 – Welcome Spring!

I’ve been saving this one for a couple weeks since I first saw it. I figure it’s appropriate for the last day of BAFS2024.

While riding every day through the winter is a challenge of itself, it’s pointless prizes like this that keep me going. Thanks to @bigredboiler for sponsoring the prize and to the rest of you all who kept it challenging over these past few months.

I must also congratulate @cvcalhoun for posting 80+ flags (which I think will be the winner?) in less than 30 miles — that’s quite impressive!!

Now it’s time for some much needed rest and bike maintenance. 😃😎⛱️

And thanks for the kudos for yesterday’s ride. I’m not as nearly as sore as I thought I’d be; I guess riding slow does have it’s advantages!  😅

I mistakenly went long today (after telling the missus I’d be back in a couple hours — I missed it by 2.5 hours lol) and collected 61 flags in 52 miles. I will *not* be repeating that tomorrow!!!

Along the same vein, do we need to upload our pictures the day of the ride or just by tomorrow night?

I rode today so want to keep the number close to the vest so I don’t have a target on my back! 🎯😉😃

@arlcxrider – 532 miles?!? I guess I can start working on increasing my average speed then because I’m pretty sure you’re out of reach for me! 😲😢😅

That being said, I’m still going to see if I can’t finish the areas I’m focused on before 3/18 rolls around:  Centreville (> 90%), Chantilly (> 70%), Vienna (> 70%) and Fairfax (> 70%).
