ParticipantWhy did I go to the All-City website. Why did I see the Macho Man Disc. What the heck is up with the standover height! I still want one, something bad now.

ParticipantTim, thanks for posting the link to the Bike Arlington Bike/Walk to School page. The bike train resources are great.
I am too lazy to make it a school wide thing this year. So, I am going to use my kids and a neighbor’s kid as guinea pigs for next year. My only concerns are getting the bike train across 16th Ave, Georgia Ave and Colesville during rush hour. We’ve ridden some of the route on sidewalks a few times, but gonna take the lane.
If anyone needs kid safety vests, IKEA has em for cheap.
Where can I get bike shaped pins?

ParticipantAlso, get your company to apply to get on the LAB Bicycle Friendly Business list.

Not sure why it’s trouble? I signed up to auto-enroll every month. I get an email confirming my scheduled order (no action needed on my part) and then I get the check 10 days later. The benefit is accepted at lots of local bike shops just like cash. You cannot combine with transit benefit, so that can be a conflict.
I was under the impression that the substantiation process was more tedious than getting a voucher every month. Time to talk to HR.

ParticipantA bikeshare membership would be nice. I do wish the shower area had better ventilation so my commuting attire is able to dry out by the end of the day.

Showers and lockers. Secure bike parking. The thing I really, really miss about my old office is the towel service at the gym – I didn’t have to deal with a wet towel, I could just grab a clean one off the pile and toss it in the bin when I was done.
I picked up a camp towel last year and it has really been great for the work shower. It dries in no time at all.

All of the above plus:
1. A bike friendly way to get to the secured, covered/indoor bike parking; and
2. The bike commuter benefit. (I know, not a building thing, but the more you ask the more likely it is you get it)Anyone have any experience with bike commuter benefits? My company is upping the monthly benefit to $30 in June. I’ve been considering it, but it seems like more hassle than it is worth. Course my Metro funds aren’t doing me any good now.

So they’re easy to ride? Soooooo want one in orange.
It was a little wobbly up front because the steering is different, but you get used to it pretty quickly. Yeah, I want one in orange too. Kind of reminded me of snowboarding or surfing. I was surprised at how light it felt even though it is about 50lbs. It was easier to push around than the Yuba Mundo I tried a few months ago. I think the solution is to get a Bullitt for me and a longtail for my wife. Just need to find an extra $6k – $7k lying around.
I wanted to try more bikes out and participate in the Bike Train, but the 2 year old had meltdown.
Oh, I did pilot the conference bike.

ParticipantReally shouldn’t have gone to this since it only added fuel to my cargo bike desire. The Bullitt was a blast to ride and Buc at Kaspers Cargo bikes was awesome. Now to convince the wife that selling the minivan for two cargo bikes is the bees knees.

ParticipantUm, so this ended a month ago. So, why haven’t my miles gone down!! Bob what did you do to me?!!

ParticipantSaw Dismal again today. This time on the Crescent Trail in Kenwood. I think I startled him as he was dealing with a large group of walkers blindly entering the trail.
