ParticipantHello, Team 27! Great to virtually meet most of you last night!
I’m Jo and I live in Berwyn Heights, a little town nestled in College Park, MD. This is my 4th year of doing Freezing saddles. Drevil pulled me in to join, so I have been riding mostly with him this year. Sometimes we run into other FSers in Prince Georges County and tag along with them for a bit. I don’t ride long distances, but I will do my best to contribute to team 27 points!
Can’t wait to meet the rest of our team members!

ParticipantHeaded out to Old Greenbelt, which has lots of New Deal sites. Tonight I visited Lenore Thomas, a mother and child statue. She was a WPA sculptor. She was in her 20s when she created this piece in 1939.

I went to a New Deal site – The Rossborough Inn at University of MD and I found that Charles Benedict Calvert used the building as a farm house, he later donated it to the University. In 1864, the Inn was a faculty residence when, during the Civil War, and Confederate Army General Bradley T. Johnson (of Frederick, Maryland) and his cavalry brigade occupied the university grounds, utilizing the building as his headquarters.

ParticipantWhen I was at GW, a group of student leaders met w student leaders from UMCP at Rossborough Inn. I didn’t know that it was the oldest building on campus, built in 1798 with improvements in 1938 from a WPA grant.
Historygeek already featured this building, so i tried to get a closer view.

Is the hashtag #BAFS2021SmallBiz or just #smallbiz? I thought I read a post (but now I can’t find it) that said you didn’t need to use BAFS2021…. Asking for a friend!
