I thought that the FS coders asked on the PP general info thread that “BAFS2021” be dropped as it is redundant w/ our authorization of Strava to sweep data for freezingsaddles.org leaderboards, which is exclusive to BAFS participants and limited to the first quarter of 2021 by default, and therefore only complicates their coding of the algorithms????

Yes I understand now that i goofed but i dont really want to make 15 people update their existing rides at this point. The leaderboard works as intended with the existing hashtag and i’ll do better next year i promise but aside from being annoying is this hadhtag actually breaking things? If your friend’s name starts with a B and ends with a U, as we have seen in previous years, he is hardly PP-challenged, given the number of entries submitted each year for multiple contests.

One thing to note is that the Strava API will truncate ride titles if they run over a certain character amount. So if you get super-duper creative with your ride titles and go long, a hashtag may be omitted.

(I’ve noticed this with HubTiger, an app/service that also scrapes ride names from Strava.)

I have good news for all. I am not a hardarse like Ricky.

I’m so happy that people are doing what they can to support so many local small businesses. seriously. I’m not gonna disqualify anyone for anything really. The mask wearing selfie outside the biz with your purchase and your bike thing was really just to emphasize that people should try to be safe (i.e I didn’t want pictures of people congregating indoors unmasked anywhere!). But really any sort of picture outside the place, and more importantly the hashtag #BAFS2021SmallBiz to ensure it gets tracked on the leaderboard is all I could ask for.
