When and how did that happen?

Just posted yesterday. A group of us (importantly including the volunteers forming the teams and doing the the back-end coding this year) reviewed the lengthy thread about amending the rules to make the team competition more competitive, and concluded this cap would be the least disruptive way to try to tighten it up a little. Given there is no rules committee nor formal governing body, we made the change so it could be posted before registration went live (which is what everybody is waiting for). This was done with full knowledge that some people might be upset, and we will offer them full refunds on their entry fee if they want.

    Here’s the official invite:

    Washington Boulevard Trail Ribbon-Cutting

Join us on Friday, Nov. 30 as County leaders and project partners celebrate a new link in Arlington’s bike/pedestrian trail network!

This project constructed a 10-foot-wide paved bicycle and pedestrian trail along the west side of Washington Boulevard. The new trail section links with the project’s first phase, built between Arlington Boulevard and Walter Reed Drive, and provides a new north-south connection between the Arlington Boulevard Trail and Columbia Pike.

The event will take place along the trail on the east side of Towers Park, near the corner of 9th Street South and South Rolfe Street. After remarks from our speakers, Capital Bikeshare bikes will be available for attendees to try out the new trail!

    Date: Friday, Nov. 30, 2018
    Time: 1 to 2 pm
Location: Towers Park, 801 S Scott St, Arlington, VA 22204

Did I miss the plug for the new bike-accessible CSX/Long Bridge span across the Potomac? Would certainly help the cyclists from the “Baseball District” get to DCA. Keep beating the drum, folks.

    Original message:

Hi there fine folks for the Forum,

BikeArlington and WalkArlington’s annual Daylight Savings light and reflective goody giveaway approaches. As usual, we’ll have small “be-seen” blinky lights and reflective gear to give to trail users who need lights.

But we always depend on volunteers to make this event happen, and it ends up being pretty fun and social.

Dates for Lighten Up Arlington this year:
Monday, November 5 @ 4:30PM – 7:00PM – Rosslyn Bikeometer (corner of Lynn and Lee Highway)
Wednesday, November 7 @ 4:30PM – 7:00PM – Columbia Pike (intersection of W&OD Trail and Columbia Pike, by the Learners Loop Park)

If you’re game to help out, shoot me an email at info@bikearlington.com or drop a comment below. Happy to have folks just stop by for a bit on their way home, too.

    Appreciate y’all!

    Erin

Nope. He can figure it out like the rest of us when he takes it for his first spin.
