Me, too. I don’t like elastic hem jerseys so I had the tailor take the elastic out of my Bike Arlington jersey’s hem. Since then, I learned that Mt. Borah offers a women’s cut without an elastic hem (hint! hint!).

What do other women think of elastic in the hem of cycling jerseys? It’s a complete non-starter for me, but I realize we come in all shapes and sizes.

My favorite jersey brands for my, um, classic female shape are Twin Six, Terry and Rapha (women’s cut all). I have learned by trail and error and had to get rid of some that just didn’t work out. Expensive mistakes.

Am adding “Race Across the Sky” to my Netflix queue. (It was fun to meet Rebecca Rusch at TJROW – very nice person.) Any other suggestions?

Did you find this on Netflix? I’ve always wanted to see it (and the companion film), but I can’t find them on Netflix.

Not sure what this means for us… probably nothing good. I note that the one cyclist in the video did not run over the critter

FWIW this study really makes me sad- who the heck deliberately runs over a turtle??!

Unfortunately, I witnessed the non-experimental version of this phenomenon when I was 13, in the final moments of our family dog’s life (we had recently moved and didn’t realize she had figured out how to escape the gate).

On the contrary, you are rendering them awestruck and intimidated by your feats of athletic prowess.

Mend fast, Kathy! Hope to see you back out there before long.

    NBC: Vacation in Orlando Edition

So, I was walking along the edge of the hotel parking lot, away from the “guest” areas. I saw a construction worker working with his bike parked nearby. I was halfway tempted to ask if I could borrow his bike for a few minutes to get some (very few) miles in today for the challenge. I resisted temptation, in a rare victory for moderation.

After our trail ride this morning, we went out into the farms — I had a chance to draft some truly fast guys (Curtis and Chris) for a bit. What fun!

Is that sort of cheating to ride with a team? Probably! Do I care? Not so much…

I suspect a lot of Strava achievements are not the work of a single individual going it alone. I’m not sure there is any expectation or etiquette, but I could be wrong. Maybe that will develop over time.

At some point you guys are going to need team cars and radios to coordinate these sightings.

“Love Your Commute” rings positively with me. I would like to have a jersey with that. When I started bike commuting now almost eight years ago (appropos to another thread), I was fed up with my alternating auto and metro commute. When I drove downtown, I started to see people who looked just like me commuting on their bicycles. This gave me the inspiration to try it. I don’t think we can assume everyone behind the wheel is antagonistic to us. Some might be intrigued and some might be pondering a move to a bicycle commute as I did all those years ago. A message like “love your commute” would have got me thinking and maybe helped tip the balance a little sooner. That’s a message I would love to send.

A late meeting and you can get there by 5:30! I did pick the right occupation for a late bird like myself.

I will try to come briefly — probably on the early side — but I have out of town guests, so I can’t stay long.

    Jackets! I remember jackets . . .

Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon. Excellent job working in the bike ride. I’m sure that will become part of family lore (“they even rode bikes on their honeymoon!”). Am researching bike rental in Central Park, as Citibikes will not be up and running (apparently) by next week.

If they aren’t going to use that exit ramp again, why don’t they tear up that pavement and landscape it? I guess this is the forgotten corner of the DCA property.
