ParticipantI pass by Mike’s Deli all the time and failed to realize that this event takes place there! 7:30?
Edit: Looks like it doesn’t open until 8 😮

ParticipantRecently said “no more bikes” and then proceeded to buy this 1977(?) Fuji S10-S over the weekend.

What happened to the other bolt?
I’m sure that I stripped the thread pre-ride while (re)installing and tightening the cleat. I had been using those shoes for both casual wear and cycling so I would constantly switch between the rubber sole “plate” and the cleats. Looks like it’s time for me to chose one form of use of the other…

ParticipantNoticed some difficulty clipping in and out on the right side yesterday while on the W&OD:

Like that bike!!!! Funny, someone I work with bought one that looks just like that.
Thanks! I haven’t used this one to commute yet so I doubt that I’m your co-worker

Nice! Welcome to the club.
Brifters = you mean just road hoods/brakes?
Thanks and yes! I ordered some hoods / levers from Bikenetic over the weekend but have not had the chance to swing by the shop just yet.

ParticipantI would LOVE a Raleigh Tamland but simply can’t justify another bike:

ParticipantFinally got my Wabi on the road. I’ve got some brifters on the way for more hand positions but so far the ride is amazing.

ParticipantDreary but fine for the most part. Went down (lightly) over a bridge that I discovered was coated in ice

The plan for a temporary velodrome in Buzzard Point, on the site of the future D.C. United soccer stadium, has fallen through. So now DC Velodrome is looking at a location in eastern Montgomery County. The velodrome “could” be built this summer, but we’ve seen other dates that have come and gone. I doubt I would ever use it, but it might be interesting to see a live event there, if they ever manage to build it.
That’d be pretty cool! I’d definitely go to watch and possibly to try a beginner’s class if they offered rentals.
