ParticipantAlright! I’d like to start these up again, even though we don’t have the furlough as an excuse. I’ve missed the Friday morning rides.
Can I get a shout-out from those who ride from the west? Please answer two questions….
What time do you normally roll out? Roughly where do you start your ride?
My start time on Fridays is flexible… It is my one ride day each week. I usually roll in from the intersection of Virginia Lane and the W&OD. My destination can be Coffee Club I (17th & G NW) or Coffee Club II (Java Hut).
We’ll get this rolling again in the next week or so. If there’s a decent response today, then we’ll give it a go tomorrow.
Thanks!
Pete

Is it just going to be me there? (sad face)
Sorry, sir. I’ve got a weird day and will be fitting in a ride between things. Have a good morning!

Thank you to everyone who has responded here. Unlike some forums, this one welcomes the Newb right from the start.
Thank you for saying so, Gart! Keep us in the loop on your trip plans. You may find some folks to ride with.
Not a day goes by that I’m not extremely grateful for this amazing bunch of people. This forum is truly a unique place on the interwebs.
Thanks y’all!

You’d start by holding the map the other way up.
We were planning on doing the southern loop in Fairfax county. We ended up doing the Northern route in Montgomery County. I guess now we know why.

Admit it, you brought that map just to get this picture.
We were riding along and found it on the side of the road.

ParticipantParts of Laurel Hill hold up VERY well in the wet. There are a few areas to avoid. Most of Laurel Hill is also a great place for beginners.

ParticipantThanks y’all for stopping by! That was fun. It was a good opportunity to celebrate all the folks who rode on a rather disgusting day!
