ParticipantI’ve been to the Dupont Circle Groundhog Day festival. It is awesome and cheesy.
We’re riding gravel in Loudoun in spite of the bad weather that day. Take lots of photos! It is pretty awesome.

Not sure what the trails or roads in Loudoun County will look like by Friday. I’m relatively sure that we all will die horrible deaths on this ride… but at least there will be wine and a cute barn cat. What could possibly go wrong?

ParticipantI’d also like to apologize. At least half of my miles these days are on an indoor trainer due to some physical therapy that I’m working on. I’ll still get my outdoor miles in every day, but it won’t be as many as I’d hoped. Hopefully things will be a little better as the winter moves on.

ParticipantIf anyone has Fridays off, likes warm weather, gravel and lots of rain, I’m leading a ride in Loudoun County tomorrow. Details on Facebook.

ParticipantHey Team 18. Kind of weird to be talking about freezing saddles when it is supposed to be almost 70 degrees tomorrow. At least we may see some snow flakes on Saturday.
See y’all out there.

ParticipantThe most frequent cause of problems with Garmin devices of that vintage is running out of storage. I obviously don’t know if that is the case with yours, but some Garmin devices a few years back did not have adequate ability to deal with running out of space. You might try deleting your history (after making sure all of your rides have been uploaded) and see if that helps.

hozn is lying. Pete, you have to go do the ride over.
It is all caught up! Thanks. Great suggestion, Mr. Renaut. That’s my plan. Gonna go longer tomorrow though.

Cool. I haven’t read this whole thread, so I don’t know if there’s something at my end that I can do, or do I just wait and see when their APIs go up again. My guess is that I just kick back and wait. Thanks!

From what I can tell in my circles, I’m not the only person that is experiencing it. That may confirm that something is up and rides are not going from Strava to Freezing Saddles data. I see 3 riders that I follow regularly who logged miles today, but do not have those rides showing up in Freezing Saddles.
Thank y’all for making this all work! It is much appreciated. You are not bad people.

ParticipantHey y’all.
I had a ride that recorded in Strava, but hasn’t shown up on Freezing Saddles yet. It has been almost 6 hours since I uploaded the ride. Normally it wouldn’t be a big deal, except that it was an 80+ mile ride, and after taking last week virtually off the bike, I could use the points.
Thanks for your help.

I apologize for not being out there and riding recently. I’ve been sick with a really bad upper respiratory infection for several days now. I’ll be able to ride some time later in the week — I hope.
Thanks
Bob
No worries, sir! Freezing saddles goes for months. Your health is WAY more important. When you’re feeling better, start back slowly and consistently. Your contributions have already helped us move up the leaderboard! They are a huge help! Rest is your friend!
On another note… It was kinda interesting today that we spent a few hours in a tie for 6th place. We later pulled ahead a little, but it was kinda cool that we had a points tie.

I do apologize for not holding my own in shitty weather. I made sure I let them know in advance that I don’t do wet weather. Sorry gang. Not even a sleaze mile in this mess from me.
Freezing saddles loses a lot of its fun if you’re just miserable out there riding. That said, I’ve always used Freezing Saddles to help inspire me to ride a little deeper than I would otherwise under whatever the conditions are. Sometimes that’s doing a 2 mile ride instead of a 1.1 mile ride. Finding the right combination of clothes and equipment given your current budget and situation is a part of that.
If you’re not having fun with Freezing Saddles, then try and change things up so that you are.
Rock on, team! Thanks y’all for being awesome. We’re doing great!

ParticipantThere is a new post in the team assignment thread that will help get everyone signed up. I think we’re down to one missing team member.
Thanks y’all for getting the sign up process done! It has moved us up the ranks a bit.
