1/12/21 – The Bat Hunt
Give up and go to Total Wine & eureka! Success, and because I didn’t bring the bike in, I had to buy the beer and bring it to the house. Problem: cannot W&OD trail patrol carrying a 6-pack on the rack, just not ladylike. Also, in 2017 my son & I visited Rogue Brewing in Portland, OR. He takes me to all the nice places!

If all else failed, I was going to go to a liquor store for a bottle of Bacardi rum, whose logo is a bat.

This was a tougher one, but in DC, there’s an advocacy group for everything. I just couldn’t take my bike in the lobby to get it in the picture

Cafe Saint-Ex is named after Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger, comte de Saint-Exupéry, a French aviator and best known as the author of The Little Prince. Like Amelia Earhart, Saint-Exupéry vanished without a trace on his final flight.

In my research, George Washington Carver may have been born on January 10 (or January 1), 1864, but other sources say he may have been sometime in June also. He’s probably most well known for his work with peanuts, but I thought it would be tough to find “peanut”, so I’m shortening it to “nut”. Happy Hunting!
I’m going for George himself. Who knew he had a park hidden away in Arlington? And behind it are the George Washington Carver Cooperative apartments

Since it wasn’t a good day to get some Senate bean soup, I stopped by the local beanery near Adams Morgan

1/4/21 – In honor of National Spaghetti Day, take a pic of an Italian restaurant, preferably one you like and/or serves spaghetti. Caveat is that it can’t have “zz” or “Garden” in the name or the sign. Happy hunting!
Also, starting on 1/4 going forward, I’m going to be a hardarse, so please read and follow the rules in the original post. Thanks again for playing

Participant1/2/21 – find a palindrome on your ride. If you use a number, it should have at least 5 digits. Post it in this thread on 1/2/21. Happy hunting!
Only 18 more days until the new occupants move in!

Participant1/1/21 – During your ride, take a pic of the number “2021” on 1/1 and post in this thread before the end of that day. Caveat: can’t be handwritten. Happy hunting!
A picture is worth a thousand words, but this one is good for only 75 points.
