The bridge carrying the CCT over the C & O Canal was built in 1885 and was moved to this location in 1909. A rare railroad Whipple truss and skewed Pratt truss bridge, it’s considered to be one of the most significant bridges in the District.

The REACH at the Kennedy Center, opened in 2019, provided new rehearsal and performance space as well as outdoor gardens and art installations. It also included a new bike/pedestrian bridge to connect to the Rock Creek Trail
