I’ve had great luck with it in the past, but no idea why it seems to have suddenly lost its mind. I tried to use it today to route me from Bethesda to College Park, and it had me going down the Beltway. So frustrating because that was a main consideration in the purchase. Google maps released its bicycle navigation the week after my purchase; a bluetooth 4 HR strap is available now (my Razr is BT 4); my Razr GPS is fantastic…. I really have no need for the Garmin 800 now (other than maybe its weatherproof characteristics). That’s a lot of money that I could’ve put towards plastic baggies to keep my phone dry. The phone works well through a plastic baggie too… yeah, frustrating.

Here we go! Finally, a product we can all use LOL. I need 4 of these, one for each direction (especially when parking at work)

funny you should ask, I just posted this link:

    http://reviews.mtbr.com/2012-bike-lights-shootout

to the big batch of bike links in the bikes and equipment forum

Personally, I really like my Light and Motion vis360, the lumens are low but the visibility it provides is important to me. I have a Cygolite on my bars for when I need some light down the path, and it has been superb as well. I would suggest that you purchase a USB rechargeable light. They’re a bit more expensive now, but will save you money in the long run. They’re also much more convenient to charge than having a recharger and rechargeable batteries that you could lose.

Please keep us updated, when possible (I can’t imagine how hectic life must be right now), on their condition. I know we’re all keeping them in our thoughts and hope for a speedy and full recovery. If the family needs anything, please let us know as well, I’m sure there are many of us that would be willing to help.

Sorry, man. As soon as we split I realized I could have ridden with you farther to the Metro and then taken Potomac back instead of the MVT. For some reason I was thinking the Garmin that had already gotten you lost would be a better guide than me.

I was good up until the block of the Metro, so no worries. It was just a bitch to orient myself, I’ve actually used that Metro stop a few times. There was some construction around there, which disoriented me a bit. I was using my phone to nav to it, and Google has NEVER* let me down.

If that Tron skinsuit is made with reflective material, I’m in (contacted customer support, will let you know!)

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for contacting us! The skinsuits do not light up and don’t have reflective material on them however our graphic designer designed the skinsuit to give the glow effect. We did not do any post processing on the photo to give it that look.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

    Thanks!

Valerie, I don’t have that floor pump, but I know that this can happen with my pump if I don’t “open” the presta valve properly. That little thread “valve tip” opening that you unscrew can be quirky at times. I find that I have to open it about 1/2 way. Sometimes if it’s open too much, it blocks the pump fitting and if it’s not open at all, well then it’s closed heh. I hope that’s helpful, not sure what else might be the issue if it works ok on the back tire.

I bet you had the thing installed up side down! BTW… did you sleep on the bar patio last night?

after 3 1/2 bottles of water to catch up for my earlier dehydration/cramping/near-death (ok, exaggeration), a pretzel from Kel, and a plate of wings, I was able to limp the 2 miles to Crystal City metro. I had a guide most of the way there, and promptly got a little lost when we parted ways lol. /dramaqueen

Is your Garmin in like…car mode or something? Looks like it wanted you to take the beltway.

It wasn’t, but I’m not sure about some of the other settings. So I need to look in to those, like “route for time”, “route for distance”, etc. I just want to get there without being put on major road and get squashed. I know the route it had me on that I actually followed could not have been the best. Even Google cycling directions doesn’t take me down HWY 1 the entire way.

So, as I mentioned at the happy hour, I had a few problems with my Garmin 😡 It didn’t seem to exactly know either A) where Arlington is or B) how to get there. Seeing the Georgetown hospital was my first clue that it was a bit off.

This was my ride down last time: http://app.strava.com/rides/22642066

This is my ride tonight: http://app.strava.com/rides/25432469

I don’t quite know why my Garmin was confused. When I finally realized how off I was (I really just don’t know DC well at all), I zoomed out to look at the rest of the route. It had me heading down the Clara Barton and, I think, crossing the American Legion bridge. Even after I started to ignore it and head down CCT and just figure out my own way there (not sure why I didn’t pull my Droid out) it still kept trying to tell me to turn around. I don’t know what got it all messed up, the settings all seem to be OK :( Still made it down, had some wings (yummy!) and awesome company!
