ParticipantHoly cow, what did you do to piss off that bird?!? Talk about marking one’s territory. That’s wild.
And did I hear some “fowl” language being spoken?

ParticipantMagpies were my husband’s biggest complaint about cycling in Australia. He ended up drawing eyes on the back of his helmet, which kinda worked. I get it now.
Ok, his biggest complaint was having to bunny hop over a giant snake laying across an ENTIRE road in a national park, but that only happened once. Magpies were an issue practically every day.

ParticipantGrowing up in Wisconsin, it was red-winged blackbirds. I saw one take down a cyclist. He probably wasn’t wearing a helmet.

ParticipantI was riding up the C&O canal at 0430 Sunday morning and got repeatedly buzzed by an interested barn owl. I used to have that happen all the time during late night mountain bike rides. Bugs were attracted to my head light. Bats are attracted to the bugs. Owls swoop down to get the bats. Not really sure I want to know what’s gonna come after the owls though.

I was out a little later this morning and got buzzed by a screech owl many times. It was quite possibly the cutest non-pink thing I’ve ever seen.
