Once I started riding fixed I started carrying quick-links in my tool bag. I should probably get some for my geared chains too, but I’m lazy.
I always have one in my saddle bag, after learning the hard way by snapping my chain once and having to hoof it home.

ParticipantWas I the only cyclist blinded by the light riding eastward into DC this morning from Falls Church? Now that was some serious sunshine!

ParticipantStopped off at Las Bicicletas art exhibition at the Reagan International Trade Center before the commute home. Hurry if you haven’t seen it; today is the last day! #lasbicicletas

I will be heading up the WOD and turning off at the start of the Custis after our happy get-together. Will. Not. Be. Riding. Fast.
I categorically refuse to ride in the company of Boomer2U because he placed ahead of me on BAFS and dropped me on the hills on the Vasa ride.
Unless, of course, he buys me beer. Then I promise to be his best-est friend forever at least as long as the alcohol is coursing through my veins.
All your beers are on me tonight, Powerful Pete! [emoji4]

I’m also thinking about biking from Falls Church to the happy hour, and I was just wondering if anyone had advice for going back there afterward. I’m a newbie and haven’t really done any night riding except for a sleaze ride on quiet residential streets
. I’m probably too slow to join a return convoy if there is one, is it safe to take the w&od trail after dark on my own if I have a reflective jacket and light? Or do you recommend I find an alternative way to get home? Thanks for any help!
I will be riding back to mile 8 (Virginia Lane) on the WOD after the HH and happy to convoy with you. I have a black Trek Madone road bike with a pink Bike Forum hanging off of my red saddle bag. I suspect that many more will be happy to join us, too.

I didn’t start out by participating in this side bet, because I’m happy with my weight where it is. However, there are still some awesome benefits, like fitness, etc. So here are my stats anyway:
January
5′ 9″ 153 pounds BMI=22.6March
6′ 1″ 171 pounds BMI=22.6So my BMI stayed the same, it seems.
Wow. You grew by 4 inches and gained 18 lbs in 3 months and retained the same BMI? All by just riding your bike?? Impressive!!!

Wait, what? Cutting back on cycling? Why would you do that?
So that I can gain some weight back, since I keep on shedding pounds despite eating everything in sight and beerneuring

ParticipantCount me in. And ready to serve in whatever needs to be done.
P. S.
I also volunteer to lead a convoy from the Cabi station at the base of the 14th Street Bridge, by the Jefferson Memorial. Wheels roll at 5:15pm across the 14th Street Bridge -> MVT South -> 4MR West -> Shirlington Cap Brewery.March 20, 2015 at 3:04 pm in reply to: Freezing Saddles Last Night Hains Point Party – March 19th, 2015 #1026308Boomer Cycles

If you left a pair of riding glasses @ HP last night, shoot me a PM with what kind of glasses and where you left them, so that they may be reunited with the rightful BAFS2015 bad ass! -
