I like this route as well, but would offer word to the wise that the switchbacks are very literal switchbacks and require some tight turns and to keep your eye on the ground for glass. With that said, it’s very easy and more pleasant than dealing with the other route, imo. I may have done this a few times for random trips over to Eastern Market and maybe parked my car there to bike into Nats games
.
I likewise have taken this route over the Case Bridge to Yards Park and Nationals Park from NOVA. Ditto the caution re switchbacks on the Case Bridge descent to the Fish Market but they are quite manageable if you go slow.

ParticipantI would also add the Cabi Stations on 20th & L and 21st & M in NW DC where this is a daily challenge too. The park at the intersection of M, 21st & New Hampshire might serve as a corral, FYI.

Mildly disagree. Although I am not a promoter of smoking, I believe riding a bike is something everyone and anyone can do–including smokers. The more of us on bikes, the better and safer it is for everyone. Also, just his presence helps spread the message that riding a bike isn’t just for MAMILs and the like, but for everyday people doing everyday things. I applaud him for using a convenient, inexpensive and urban-friendly form of transportation.

Everyday people on bikes; what’s not to like?

Hello Everyone!
I hope all is going well. I wanted to write to introduce myself, I am Samantha Curtis, an intern for the Northern Virginia Tour de Cure. I am posting to reach out to see if any local cyclists were interested in forming a team of volunteers for this year’s Tour de Cure ride. This year’s Northern Virginia Tour de Cure will be held on Sunday, June 7th. If you are interested in volunteering I can email you the list of opportunities. I am available by phone at 202-331-8303 or by email at scurtis@diabetes.org. You can find more information on the ride at http://www.diabetes.org/novatourdecure. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
Best,
SamanthaI have an informal team of about 6 cyclists, all veteran centurions, interested to do this ride together, several of whom have experience as WABA ride marshalls. Can you send me a PM with more info as to what you are looking for? Thank you.

Are they compatible with Look’s newer Blade pedals, or the original Deltas?
Pietro, I originally bought these pedals in 2011 for the Nation’s Triathlon, so I don’t believe that they are compatible with the newer Look Blade pedals.

These are awesome pedals. I have 7500 miles on mine. … but you can actually buy them new from Performance right now for 20% off the $75 discounted price + free shipping (total $59.99 + tax).
Thanks for the feedback, Honz, but please note that I also include the shoe cleats and cleat covers, above and beyond the just the pedals.
