First FANTASTIC.
The Oxon Hill Club also has a google calendar.
Nice – added that to my own list of calendars.
I’ll try to add in the single-instance rides when I can (because I’d like to keep track of them too). It was just a little easier to get started with the repeating rides.Bilsko

The autumnal running of the Kill Bill Century needs to happen too. I promised that we’d do another, possibly more stupider Kill Bill ride. Any suggestions for timing? I’ve had one vote for early September.
Sounds like a good time to me. I’m hoping to join this time around.

100 feet? Seriously?!
There should also be a sign for ped users too; they have responsibilities as well. Just sayin’
The language is weird though….approaching within 100ft. How else would the whole passing thing work? Or perhaps there are sections of the trail where you get a wiiiiide 125ft berth.

The Tapatalk app is pretty good, huh? I just d/l’ed it the other day. Only wish you could “Like” posts directly from it.

What if we commission a new sculpture specifically for Hains Point – perhaps a superbiker shaking a fist at a tour bus?
Or maybe something in honor of all the fence/barriers around the Mall…but, you know, bike-related:

ParticipantThanks for the update. I decided to go with a pair of the Keo Max after all. Found a good deal online from planet cyclery through eBay. $100. One of the shops wanted 180 for them! I’m all for supporting my LBS – and have thrown plenty of money their way over the past few years, but a 80% markup is a bit much.

ParticipantLiz – a bit late to this thread, but I’m in the process of getting a new set of pedals/cleats so I figured I’d see what everyone on the forum had to say
I’ve been riding on Look Delta’s on my road bike for several years now and have been pleased. Its a commuter bike so I do a decent/moderate amount of walking on the cleats. (Some on brick stones, dirt-rocks, and sidewalk)
I’ve found that I burn through a set once every 8 months or so (sometimes 6, sometimes 10) I tend to run them pretty ragged though, so you may want to err on the shorter side. Both of these cleats are end of life. First one is left side:

Second is the right, the foot I drop:

The white section of the front tab – I think Pete mentioned it a couple posts back – is a decent indicator of just how much (or little) life the cleat hasDelta cleats are getting harder and harder to come by since Look made the switch to Keo so I’ve been giving thought to switching. How has your experience been with the Look’s so far? I assume you’re on one of the Keo models – which one?

I doubt the person who started this thread will ever even come back. So responding to him/her is probably not accomplishing much. However, I ride the CCT several times a week for my commute and it is exactly as this person described. These guys are reckless and act as if the trail is theirs and everyone else is just clutter.
I’m on the CCT twice a day every day (8/8:30AM and again 4-5PM) and I don’t see that many people being that careless. To be clear, in the morning I’m only on for the last 1/2 mile of the trail in to Georgetown and in the afternoon from Georgetown up to the Dalecarlia, but I haven’t seen that many riders riding belligerently. I cant claim much exposure to trail conditions in the morning, but in the afternoon I’m on the trail for 4 miles or so – am I missing something?
All of that said, when I was riding home this afternoon some guy popped out up onto the trail at Fletcher’s without looking and nearly hit me and another oncoming rider.

ParticipantAlso – for all things weather, you cant do much better than spending $10 on this book:
Eric Sloane’s Weather Book -Amazon-With tons of meticulously hand-drawn illustrations and in all its 1948 glory, it is well worth your money.

Participant12:30 check of Wunderground/weather.com/CWG shows it pretty clear for the next couple of hours.
Just make sure you check before you head out!Bilsko
ParticipantMy printer has been riding on the CCT?

ParticipantI’ve been using the Sci-Con pouches for a few years now and am a fan. They have a nice attachment mechanism so no straps to mess with – it just locks in to the saddle with a quarter twist and stays secure.
Looks like this: Its one of their smaller pouches, so not a lot of room inside:
2 levers integrated into the bag itself (they have a version with a multitool integrated but I didn’t go for that one)
1 Gorilla Multitool
1 tube
1 CO2
1 CO2–>Presta adapter
1 Basic patch kit

ParticipantMy money goes to the shorts that SWRVE makes: http://swrve.myshopify.com/collections/knickers-shorts/
Actually, I haven’t bought their shorts, but I do have 3 pairs of their knickers and a pair of jeans. Its on the higher end of the price spectrum (somewhere between Chrome and Rapha) but really high-quality work (BONUS: all the Blk Lbl gear is made in the USA) and a good shop behind it. -
