To no one’s suprise, I wish to be a Friend of BAFS in 2025, as I was in 2024.

My contributions will be to do the Civil War Forts pointless prize, to argue with Steve patiently explain to Steve the benefit of the Friends leaderboard, and to discuss BAFS trivia, and all other trivia

I signed up to ride Freezing Saddles, but I would like to switch to being a Friend, to give someone else a chance to compete and join a team.  I didn’t see a way that I could switch.  Can an admin do that for me?

@ltierstein (and anyone else who has questions/concerns/complaints):  You can use the contact form at this link.  However, you may wish to specify whether you definitely want to be a Friend, or only want to be one if necessary to allow someone else to participate.  Although we have had more registrations than spots, there are always some people who

    • ask to drop out,
    • don’t join their team’s Strava club after being assigned to a team, or
    • get injured during the competition.

Last year, we had 269 registrations, everyone got onto a team, and we even ended up being unable to replace at least one person who got injured.  So I would not automatically assume that you need to drop out in order to give someone else a place.

@boomer2u, we have your registration.  You’ll be a Friend if you don’t get assigned to a team.  However, see my response to @ltierstein, above.  Even late registrants have a good chance of being assigned to teams.
