Are you suggesting the rules only apply to racing bikes? My god, there goes half my material for smart ass comments…

(I think the race/road equivalence is incorrect. I would call both the LHT and Big Dummy road bikes.)

    Ha. Sorry. :)

You are correct. My apologies. I mis-typed. I meant race bike, although even that’s a misnomer. Any bike’s a race bike if you ride it hard enough and try to go faster than someone else. ;)

Pictures of your bike make me long for spring and all-day-long bike rides under the sun. I’d fill that front bag as the french intended — with wine, cheese and a nice baguette. WSGFABR!

Indeed! Well, funny you mentioned a baguette, I have a baguette bag for it… ;)

    Check your chain slack. (Regularly)
    And ditch the rear brake!

My steed for the day by thetejon, on Flickr

Went to Annapolis for the weekend and just as I was putting the bike rack on the car, it broke. So I took my dad’s old Falcon out. It hasn’t been ridden in at least a year or two, but the tires held air, and it wasn’t actually that unpleasant. Brakes didn’t really work. I plan to restore it when I have the room.

My 13 year old Trek (my errand bike), all washed up, degreased, and re-lubed after being abused in the snow over and over. I even washed the undersides of the fenders and the crate on the back. Hasn’t looked this pretty in a long time.

Maybe I’ll get my commuter done tomorrow. Is it too early for that? Is it just wishful thinking that the misery of winter is over?
