ParticipantLookin Sharp!
That looks like a wonderful, versatile bike. Canti’s and multiple rack bosses are definitely my style.
However, I shall have to refer you to Rule 46.
Also, your bottle cage appears to be bent in a strange way. Does it still securely hold water bottles?August 12, 2013 at 5:42 pm #977954DismalScientist

Those are the original Blackburn water bottle cages.
The last time I lost a bottle was with a more modern, plastic cage.August 13, 2013 at 2:17 am #977997PeteD

The cage is set up proper for a 40 oz!

Don’t think so. It’s aluminum.

ParticipantEventually it might break at the welds. Blackburn MTB cage has two sturdy cross plates vs. the one flimsy one found on most alloy cages. I don’t really bend mine to accommodate wider bottles, but I do bend them back when they get a little out of shape. I’ve never broken one of these.

The officer in a sneaking unmarked car had pulled over a car on West St just north of the Great Falls St intersection. I asked him if it was for running the light there since I had just seen two cars run the light at Lincoln and West and then another at Great Falls and West. He just smiled at me.

ParticipantLooks like you might even be able to squeeze say, a new single-speed in there too.

ParticipantThere is definitely room for at least 2 more in in the rack plus dont forget you can store another in the work stand that I am sure is just out of frame.

That looks great! One quick question: do the back wheels (front for the Volpe) touch the floor? Just curious if they are hanging from the hooks or resting on the ground with the hooks just keeping them upright.

The wheels are on the floor, so the hooks just keep the bikes upright…if I’d designed it for the bikes to hang, I’d have had to mount the hooks much more securely, which would’ve been a lot more work.
I may have to tweak everything a bit though, after I’ve had a chance to use it more. The most annoying thing is having to mount the Volpe front-wheel-down due the fender being in the way. What I may end up doing is just placing the bike in the normal upright position with the back wheel in the rack. I probably could’ve solved the problem with more time and effort, but I really just wanted something I could put together with a quick trip to Home Depot and a couple hours of assembly time.
