I’m better at spotting bikes than riders on the trails. Riding glasses and helmets are like superhero disguises, they befuddle me. What do you ride?

I hope you never have to move to the ‘burbs. I can’t wait to see how you work the whole family fleet in there, especially when the kids are on adult bikes.

Can’t move to the ‘burbs, the kids are in a DC public charter school that we love.

There’s probably room for a few more in the hallway, especially kid-size bikes. The old technique of hanging on the ceiling would work for a smaller bike – it was fine on my compact geometry road bike, but not on the Bianchi. Also, the wife said I could get a kid-carrier cargo bike when we move to a bigger place. So, looking forward to that.

Picked the LeMond this morning, explained to my wife it’s my favorite and I love it. My other bikes were like WTF, we can hear you.
Then on the commute in I saw 2 other Zurichs in the same blue / yellow paint, probably same year. Something’s going on.

Here’s the latest addition to my fleet, a ’70s Fuji S-10-S (Special Road Racer) converted into a fixie.

Now I just need to grow a beard, act nonchalant, and learn to ride this thing.

Riding a fixie nonchalantly is good.
Ironic facial hair is just silly.
You do realize that you will now feel compelled to out climb geared riders…

This much computing power would have filled an office building in 1964. Now I can go for a bike ride with it. Very slowly and the smoothest line. I baby these computers. My favorite client.

Poking around Rehoboth Beach. This trail was paved then gravel (passable on 23mm road tires) then sand. I turned around at the sand. I would have hung out here for a minute but the horseflies were too thick.
