Damn I thought I could participate in this, but it seems you hafta actually get a slice of pizza …. Not a viable thing for me almost anyplace cuz lactose & gluten intolerant. And they’re not so portable…. I’ve gonna on donut rides & brought my husband donuts, but pizza is better hot.

The powers that be have determined that a calzone counts, if consumed at a pizza place.

 

They have also determined that any pizza consumed in the Republic of Italy (I’d say southern Italy, but I don’t want to quibble about Italian geography,  really) counts toward tie breaking.

If you can find a pizza place that serve a pizza made with vegan cheese on a gluten free crust you probably deserve a prize just for that. 😉

Menomale (locations in Brookalnd and NoMa) notes they have an option for gluten-free crust as well as vegan cheese.  And they are certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana.

Stellina (locations near Union Market and Mount Vernon Square in DC but also Shirlington, VA) also claims to have gluten-free crust/dairy-free cheese available.
