Well, I suppose the question is whether the standard is that the object is discernable, or that it is discernable that the object is art. For the record, other than the silver color, it does indeed look like a heck of a pruning job–see photo (not mine), below. Just let me know if I need to untag the ride.

Ha! The Faceless Cabal found the supporting evidence convincing, and hereby grant the bonus point (though they question @consularrider’s past interpretations of “art” …. not to mention “lakes” but they digress easily when faced with unsolicited feedback…

ParticipantLast game of frogger, I hope. This is called “Whirlwind” by Art Garcia and is on a traffic circle. I tried to take some “art-ish” shots like Boomer would but they’re not very good. Boomer, you’re still the boss. I see this all the time as I ride through this circle. Today was the first time I noticed the color changes as it goes up into the sky.

Participant@kbikeva, we can work on your artsy fartsy composition skills once you survive frogging to score #publicartfinder pointless points!:-0

Oh my! This is a tough one for the faceless cabal to assess for “discernible” art. At first glance, it looks to be either a very high tree stump, or a hack of a pruning job!:-0 Keep an eye on this space for a plume of white or black smoke once the faceless cabal announces a ruling…

Definitely art, but not very ‘public’ … why do people keep their art far from the masses? sigh

ParticipantEntitled, “Pasajero” this work is a GIANT representation of people ascending the Sun Metro bus system. When I was in high school it was called “Sun City Area Transit” or “SCAT” . . . but you can imagine why they changed it!

ParticipantSUCH a hard time picking a piece today, so here is what I saw.
The first three are politically robust enough that they’d look at home in DC!

This one is so quirky – it screamed “BOOMER!”

And this one is on the side of a closed pet store. I can’t figure out what the letters say. Anyone?

ParticipantSince there was some question regarding whether my recent artwork could be “discerned,” I’m going to the opposite extreme this time. In one year, this place (4927 Auburn Avenue, Bethesda) went from boring standard medical office building (see photos here) to.. well, you’ll see.
This is the side facing the street. Already rather noticeable.

Even most buildings with a lot of artwork focus on decorating the entrance. But in this case, some of the other artwork is even more spectacular than the front. Here is the side facing a parking lot.

Even the loading dock got the treatment.

There is also artwork on each side of the entrance doorway. Here is one.

But the other one is my favorite. It’s labeled “Work in Progress 2021.” If this is still in progress, I have to wonder what it will look like when finished!
