You’ve inspired me, Boomer. The sculpture’s flowers are softly illuminated at night.I’m humbled, and in awe of your frogging skills!

ParticipantI love this whimsical piece of art on the side of a building between Rose Avenue and Old Georgetown Road on Trader Street in Pike & Rose (North Bethesda). It is next to a construction site and has a background of sky blue with patches that look like something has fallen out of them, and then little figures of people rappelling down the side of the building.

ParticipantWhere was this guy when I was changing my tube this morning?
Actually, this looks like I posed my bike perfectly. I’m not that good — I didn’t notice the dovetail between mural and bike until I looked at the photo at home!
This mural wraps around the building of The Great American Cattle Company Steakhouse. They used to make the most delicious steak sandwiches. Now … well, I like the mural.

For today’s #scavhunt, I rode to Maryland Meadworks which is also a #publicartfinder. I guess Rumi’s talented daughter is the author of this beautiful art.January 20, 2022 at 11:54 pm #1117243Serdar

On my ride today, I found a New2Me mural devoted to women entrepreneurs at Union Market (6th Street NE side). Last summer, on this very wall they had a mural devoted to Resilience. I guess, they change murals regularly.January 21, 2022 at 2:19 am #1117261sszibler

*** Bike Art Bonus Point Opportunity tomorrow only ***
Just in time for tomorrow’s snowstorm in the DC area….
Go find a piece of bicycle-related public art while riding at LEAST 10 miles (decasleaze) tomorrow, and win +5 points for being a Rule 9 rider in addition to a PublicArtFinder. Post your pic here, and remember to include some portion of your bike in the pic, along with a link to your Strava post so that your ride can be verified.
Additional bonus points may be awarded to truly inspirational results .

ParticipantI didn’t do the snowstorm challenge because a) I forgot and b) there was no bad weather where I am so it seemed a little unfair.
But today I had an excellent day. They called to say they’d be releasing mom from the hospital today. They had been saying Sunday … so this was awesome, but I was thinking it would mean no bike ride. Of course, I forgot that getting out of there takes even MORE time than getting in there . . . so I had plenty of time to ride down to the local watering hole (ha ha). It’s a shopping/restaurant area that was converted from a huge factory that was there for years. (Ever heard of Farah pants?). The property is called “The Fountains” and those are my public art for today.

ParticipantSaw this on my ride today, and although My Kitchen Design’s building was behind a locked chain link fence (they’re not open Saturdays), you can still see it so hoping it counts! This building is on Hanging Moss Rd in an industrial area west of N Forsyth Rd in northeast Orlando, and adds a nice bit of color to an otherwise drab neighborhood.
