This is an amazing sculptural canopy over the entrance to the El Paso Natatorium. (Big ‘ol swimmin’ pool). I’m glad Boomer doesn’t limit the number of photos because just 1 doesn’t really capture it. It’s called “Marquise” and it’s by Marc Fornes/THEVERYMANY, an art/architecture studio in NYC.

Buoyant Force by Sue Wrbican is a 50-foot steel sculpture inspired by the paintings of American Surrealist Kay Sage (b. 1898, Albany, New York; d. 1963, Woodbury, Connecticut). Sage is recognized for her paintings of scaffolded structures and furled fabric in desolate landscapes. This is the sculpture Tephra ICA commissioned Wrbican to realize at full-size in Reston Town Square Park.

3/2/22 Art on the Four Mile Run Trail across from ASCPA which I didn’t take time to include my bike but later I found a beautiful new building near Arlington Central Library where even the signage for the dog place was pretty. The benches are cool. They have beautiful wood and blue and orange bases. Impressive addition architecturally.
