Weren’t memorials specifically excluded? I’m not the enforcer here, just suggesting you might want to use a photo of any other art you saw on that trip if you have one.

Sorry @serdar but memorials & monuments are subjects of a different pointless prize (#monuments) and excluded from this year’s #publicartfinder … but you can still recycle your photo on the #monuments thread.

Melrose skatepark, on the NW Branch Trail in Hyattsville at Rte 1.

“A three-panel tile mosaic by artist Valerie Theberge, of nearby Mount Rainier, Md….depicting waves and swimming shad. The fish are native to the Anacostia River, which runs just to the west of the skatepark. Theberge’s work pays homage to the famous woodblock print, ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa,’ by the Japanese artist Hokusai.”
