Hey!

My name is Lana, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try cycling with a queer group based in DC. They suggested I sign up for freezing saddles which frankly sounds terrible because I hate being cold! I also love to move my body, learn new skills, and make friends so here I am! My partner bikes and does cross races from time to time so she’s the one that really introduced me to bikes. I hope I can do some miles with her too!

I don’t bike often mostly to and from pickleball in my neighborhood but I live very close to Hains point (SW-waterfront) and could probably knock out some miles over there.

I’m new to FS and excited to be encouraged out of my comfort zone WRT temperature. Since I’m a skier, I am planning to utilize my long johns, gloves, etc.

Hi all! I’m Elena, joining freezing saddles for the first time. With the potentially rough winter we’re expected to get, I need something to motivate me to get out of the house and onto the bike! I’ve also been trying to get more involved in DC’s bike community, and I’m looking forward to meeting other people.

Hi everybody!

Just wanted to introduce myself, as I recently signed up for this forum and want to participate in freezing saddles.

I started cycling at the begining of this year and like it a lot. I ride solo because I don’t know any other riders and also I fear I am too slow.

I’ve lived in the area for about 10 years and I absolutely love it here.
