ParticipantNote to newbies! Even though the teams won’t be announced until Jan. 7, start riding and recording your rides on Strava as of Jan. 1, because they will count! I was new last year and was confused about this so I missed several days of points for my team
Maybe I was the only dense person, but I’m sharing this in case it’s helpful!
BAFS inspired me to get out and ride every single day last winter, and I had a blast! I ride an electric-assist bike and use it to go everywhere, from the grocery store to the gym.

ParticipantHi I’m Rebecca. I’m used to riding in the winter because I do not drive, but have been struggling to find motivation without a commute and I’m thinking this will help!

Hello! My name is Serdar. I came across BASF on my friends’ Strava feeds last year. And I am happy to join this fun competition this year.
Just an update. I received an email about an upcoming Zoom call on January 7. Look forward to it!

ParticipantNew to the group and just moved back to the area. A buddy invited me to join this group, sounds like great motivation for winter training!

ParticipantHi – I hail from the snowbelt in Ohio, so not hesitant to bike in the winter. However, I was a holdout on getting Strava because I just want to enjoy riding without complication. I told my friends who talked me into this that I felt tricked into getting Strava…

ParticipantKevin here! This is my first time doing Freezing Saddles. I’ve been riding in and around DC for around 15 years at this point mostly for commuting/running errands/getting around and fun but also for exercise. I am looking forward to putting more miles on this winter and hopefully getting back into mountain biking if anything my size and price range would ever come back in stock. I try to commute by bike at least 80% of the time (I’m essential so I’ve still been going in the whole pandemic) and try to squeeze in at least one other ride per week.

ParticipantI like cycling and I like winter, so this was an easy button. Count me in.

ParticipantLong time reader, first time poster. Normally travel too much to give FS serious consideration. One bright spot of the pandemic has been all the extra time riding. Here’s hoping things get better and the traffic remains light! Now to find warmer gloves…

ParticipantHiya everyone. I got my riding in by commuting pre-pandemic, and only started riding for leisure this past summer. Looking forward to having more reasons to get my butt out of the house without the daily commute. I’m from the DMV, and came back a couple of years ago after being gone for a while, so looking forward to discovering it with new eyes.

ParticipantHi,
This will be my first Freezing Saddles. I’m a daily bike commuter who doesn’t have a commute anymore and will look for any excuse to ride. -
