This one might make it on the schedule this year: http://www.alpineloopgranfondo.com/

I may try to make this one. It sounds really fun and it’s definitely somewhere I haven’t ridden before. Might be hard for me to squeeze a full Kill Bill around it though – maybe I’d just join for the Barcroft portion.

There’s also a code red air quality warning: “A CODE RED AIR QUALITY ALERT MEANS THAT AIR POLLUTION CONCENTRATIONS WITHIN THE REGION ARE UNHEALTHFUL FOR THE GENERAL POPULATION. THE EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION CAN BE MINIMIZED BY AVOIDING STRENUOUS ACTIVITY OR EXERCISE OUTDOORS.”

An early morning/late evening ride is probably best.

I’m not a retrogrouch but I love watching the retroshift video where they dump the whole cassette in one swing.

If I make it to the 12th I probably won’t be there til at least 6:30pm.

For those that don’t really follow the Tour, know this – Stage 11 will be completely _)@(#@!#_)( #@# nuts, as pro cycling goes. Totally worth watching in the company of friends.

The tough part will be avoiding any spoilers in advance!

Yeah it’s not the best UI but compared to others in the same vein (endomondo) it’s still better.

It’s all academic anyway, but thanks for the kind write-up!

Will has only missed one day

Actually I did log a ride on that day, but it was less than 0.5 mi so it doesn’t show up on the team page. I did check the points when I logged that and I got the 20 points still. But yeah usually I try to make sure I do at least 0.51 to make sure it shows up.

I think Tim is behind on logging some miles (y’know like, over 200 of them), or he’d be ahead of me.

My miles from Total200 didn’t count since I wasn’t able to enter them until late on July 1st. Oh well. :D

Really? That’s crazy! You should contact them and see if they can fix that.

I have 9 trips logged already :D (I started logging in the end of June to get me into the habit)

As far I can tell, you do have to log your miles by the end of the day you rode them. You can’t log miles a single day late.

Sorry about your bike, dbb, but glad to hear you caught it in time.

A few months ago I noticed a creaking noise from the front of my bike whenever I was climbing out of the saddle… an inspection and trip to the store where I bought the bike confirmed there was a crack in the dropout of the fork that was starting to propagate up the fork leg. The dropout was aluminum and the leg was carbon. The store put in a replacement full carbon fork with the same dimensions for me,as that was the only warranty option they had without a long delay.

    Definitely glad I investigated that.

I have Tektro R580s stock on my road bike. I had some squeaking issues around the pivot at ~1500mi of use, and just used some oil to loosen it up a bit. Seemed to work ok once it penetrated into the pivot.
