Great Falls probably works unless I get all complaint about the cold. Gnar will be shred.

Shredding gnar at a “stay warm but not get sweaty” pace, of course.

I’ll be there. TwoWheelsDC and I were talking about going for a Thanksgiving Ride and I was thinking about Whole Foods as a starting point.

Great Falls? Obviously, the more the merrier.

Harris Teeter: the labyrinth of modern times. I wonder what would represent the Minotaur? Probably pita chips. I can never find the f*cking things at any Harris Teeter.
I spent like 15 minutes the other day looking for tortillas. They were in a middle-of-the-aisle thing in the freezer section. W.T.F.
Also, why are seltzers not in the same place as all the other carbonated and non-carbonated flavored waters?? GAH.

ParticipantSometime yesterday, the RCP trail section just south of KenCen was rerouted slightly, with protective scaffolding (think NYC sidewalk) for maybe 100 feet. The trail/scaffolding seems fine enough, but the southern end of the detour involves a blind kink in the trail that seems particularly dangerous.

This is true. The HT in Pentagon City larger and nicer.

But like, even the aisles are arranged differently and stuff that’s together in one store is separate in another. It’s maddening!

IThe Harris Teeter is the most confusing store I’ve been in
Fun fact: no two Harris Teeters are even remotely the same! The one in Hill East, the one in Navy Yard, the one in Pentagon Row…all totally different.

I think he’s just on the bleeding edge of a “Parkways for People” advocacy campaign.
I’ve ridden a bike on Skyline Drive, Colonial Parkway and the Natchez Trace Parkway and all three were a great way to commune with the natural beauty of our nation.
Maybe we should all just take a lane on the GW Parkway and move it towards being a bit more park like.

My understanding is that a fair amount of riders use (or at least used to use) the GWMP south of Old Town on weekends for group rides. I can’t even let myself imagine a day where there was a GWMP running north from Rosslyn to Great Falls…it’s like trying to imagine heaven even though you know it doesn’t exist.

Where did he come from? Spout Run?
I’ve seen people on CaBis coming onto the GWMP from Spout Run(!) But if you were coming from Lorcom and turning left onto Spout Run, I don’t think you’d pass any “no bike” signage, as the one sign is on the west side of the I-66 overpass.

Can I have your RadWagon so you can be a real cyclist again?

It’s yours. Better to be a “real cyclist who drives almost everywhere” than a “car-free e-biking shithead” amirite

Indeed! There’s more of those stupid things on the trail than ever. If they’re not allowed, no one is enforcing it. And if they do, expect to hear some noise, because the people who ride them are too lazy to ride a real bike. My local bike shop (Spokes) probably sells more ebikes than real bikes. And they must make a good profit doing it, because they push them hard. Kind of a sad state of affairs when the most up and coming desirable feature on a bicycle is an electric motor.
A masterful blend of hot take and shitpost. Tip of the cap to you.

ParticipantThe C&O towpath was more mud puddlier (?) than usual during this morning’s rain…I wonder of the restored water levels in the canal affect drainage? Or maybe I just rode through after a particularly heavy band of rain…
