ParticipantCommute was gorgeous this morning, nice and cool. Will be a different story going home….. Nice to see familiar faces on the ride into work. You don’t get that in car!

Thunderstorm moved through just as I was getting ready to walk out the door. Combined with the already complicated logistics of biking 13 miles to an offsite building for training(no place to keep wet clothes), means today was a bus day. But it’s hard to complain when it only takes me 30 minutes to get from Westover to Reston.
Same here, so I drove and traffic was surprisingly light. But, it was dry outside the Westover area and I wish I’d ridden! What bus do you take from Westover to Reston?

Pre-work commuting intervals for time trial season! D – he will only break you because he cares.
I did not break this morning, had a fantastic ride in. Thanks for the company Hozn! The pace was perfect, hope it wasn’t too slow for you. (Don’t call me Sandbagger….)

Tomorrow if you have a bit of time, its Thursday morning CC at Caffe Amouri in Vienna, one block off the WOD.
Tomorrow is the only day I’m not riding in. Boo! Next week I’ll stop by and thanks for the invite!

ParticipantTrying to leave Westover at 6:45-7 so I can get to work and shower. Takes me approx 50 minutes to get to Sunset Hills where I turn right to go to Business Center Dr.

ParticipantI work in the Strayer Building and bike in from Westover. Agreed, turning left onto Clarendon from Veitch is less than enjoyable. Same goes for heading North on 15th/Veitch and turning left onto Wilson. No one seems to know what to do. The lane markings or signage needs to be improved for the left turn and straight lanes for Southbound Veitch traffic. Not a good intersection from a car or bike perspective.

Apparently for you people in East Westover the county deigned to drop a plow blade on your bucolic street. We plebes in West Westover had to portage our transportation to the nearest plowed secondary street.
I’m on 15th St too – we had to chase down the plow driver, otherwise he would have kept going on Longfellow. If you’re on a cul-de-sac, you’re screwed – except 15th Rd.

ParticipantCobbles at Paris-Roubaix. A bit harder than the wooden bridge. Put your bike in a big gear, keep a light grip on the handlebars and power through it. That or ride on the sides of the road with no cobbles.

ParticipantOverdressed too – still in the sub freezing mode of layering up.
My commute time to Courthouse is the same as driving: 3.5 miles = 17 minutes, plus I don’t have to pay $8 for parking.
