Conte’s is about to open across the street from where I work – the first bike shop in Capital Riverfront. While I intend to remain loyal to Bikenetics, having a bike shop close to work should be very helpful. I note they have existing shops in ther region – do they have a good reputation?
To answer the original post: I can’t say enough good things about the Conte’s in Virginia Square. They have provided outstanding customer service every time I have gone into the shop. I’ve been in twice with flats while out on a ride (destroyed tires) and they immediately changed out tires for me. They have been prompt with their service, very friendly and helpful, and provide regular updates on status of repairs. Their staff and mechanics are great.

ParticipantThundercats works for me too! I’m Deirdre, this is my 3rd Freezing Saddles. Would love a team meet up one of these days.

ParticipantIt’s not the kids, its the parents and the goofy things they’ve got me doing. I’m done with this Elf on a Shelf gig, I’m outta here!

Hit 822W today racing Deirdre home (she in her car). It was actually about 2 miles in to a 3+ mile, pretty-much-all-out effort on my part, so maybe I can hit 1000W after all.
And you won! Damn red lights.

ParticipantHeavy duty aluminum foil under your shoe inserts work well too. I tried that last winter, seemed to work ok. Also helps to keep the wind from coming through the bottom of the shoe.

ParticipantI’m good for any night but Thursdays and FCC at Java Shack is always good if I can get out of bed early enough.

ParticipantSteve, don’t get too excited about my mileage, I have a lot of indoor training miles that I didn’t mark for BAFS since I didn’t know if I was going to be on a team.
I need to go back and reclassify them as #NoBAFS. Not to worry, I’ll make up for it.

ParticipantI’ll be coming from DC on Sat, so I’ll try and find you guys. I need to get out and ride!!! And yes, lets kick team 5’s ass!
Steve, I’m sure we’ve crossed paths many times in the ‘hood.
BTW, just changed my forum name to Toonces (instead of my boring initials – dgm), because I like dumb humor like that.

ParticipantHi, I’m Deirdre and just was added to your team. I live in Westover and regularly commute to work in Courthouse (unless its below 25 degrees). Doing a couple inside trainer classes this winter, but will be riding outside on the weekends. I’m off on Monday and would be interested in a ride. Would love to catch up with Sat ride somewhere along the route, can you post up a cue sheet? Pete, I’m always up for loops at Hains Point too!
