All the local shops in the area are sanitizing the touch points on the bike before and after test rides. Most are also offering curbside service. Call the shop and discuss your concerns and their action plans to keep both you and them safe.

    *sigh*

The Journey is cancelled in case anyone missed the email from Gordon.

While I am sad that these events are being cancelled, it does warm my heart that race directors are doing the right thing to try and keep their communities safe.

Hmm. Interesting that the bill requires Class III operators to wear a helmet. I am curious to know how (or how often) that will be enforced.

OMG! Anyone who has ever thought about trying mountain biking should do this. The trails out at Laurel Hill are absolutely do-able on a CX or gravel bike, but definitely more fun on a mountain bike.

I wish I could join in, but already have plans to head out to Stokesville for the 60/40 MTB race.

I haven’t had to ride any of this since it all started because of an ankle injury but I’m hoping to start next week.

Is the “preferred” route for both east and west (using eastbound as an example) taking columbia/16th to Roosevelt and then sneaking out into the bike lane so that you can see traffic coming from the left on Roosevelt and then scooting out into the median to check traffic coming from the right? Then you pop onto that little side street that comes out by the basketball court.

Before I had to stop riding, I was using Columbia Street to get around the Lee Hwy bridge so staying on that seems like a nice continuation.

Honestly, the sight lines are not that bad. If you are uncomfortable crossing Roosevelt (which, I have a feeling you will not be once you actually see it), you can always ride the sidewalk down to cross at the HAWK signal.

I was overdressed on my BIKE RIDE home from work today and so was overheated by the time I got home. I cooled off with some pistachio ice cream for National Pistachio Day.

I did the same, but failed to take a photo. And mine was gelato from Trader Joe’s. 😎

In this same topic, I never click on just links. Please kindly provide a synopsis of what the article is about instead of just posting a link. There are some great examples of this elsewhere on the forum. (Besides, I thought that was proper forum etiquette, as those that just post links are typically spammers.)

Perfect timing. I will be in a board meeting until 6, so can swing by on my way home!

OMG. Tomorrow is National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. Perhaps a breakfast trip to Lazy Mike’s is in order tomorrow!

This morning, there were two pieces of plastic or something (stands for a sign?) still in the trail on the approach.

Question… In the past, Slackers (sorry, FRIENDS of BAFS) were eligible for pointless prizes, but we seem to have been dropped from the pointless leaderboards. (For example, Dirty Biker)

    Thoughts?

Interesting news from Falls Church! Looks like Solace is coming to the Little City as a collaboration with some DC area restaurateurs.
