ParticipantIf I remember correctly (it has been a couple of years since I have been there), there is a bike rack (although crappy one) on the surface level of the parking garage in the C building, next to the rear stairwell.

ParticipantThe Bike Lane in Reston has a fleet of rental bikes. Their website says that e-bike rentals are coming soon, so hopefully they will have them available shortly (if not already). You may want to check in with them for a timeline on that.
There is also a Pedego shop in Leesburg that has rentals.
Both of those shops give you plenty of options for low stress riding with stops for beer/food along the way.

Hi Sunyata. Thank you for your prompt. He is 5’9, so I think 54 cm.
Ahh, so the perfect medium. I would check with Pheonix Bikes for a low cost used bike. Since he is a pretty common size, you will probably find something for less than what you might rent for.
Judd’s bike might work with some modifications, too.

ParticipantIt might help to put the approximate size bike you need.
Also, not sure if they do long term rentals, but the Bike Lane in Reston just got a new fleet of rental bikes (most appear to be hybrids, which would be perfect for commuting).

ParticipantI have zero goals for 2022. And this is why:

ParticipantI work for Arlington County, currently at the Bozeman government center (Courthouse Plaza). There is free bike parking and a free gym with showers. If you drive, you have to pay (although subsidized) for parking. I get a monthly “bike/walk to work” bonus of about $40-ish. The County also offers FREE CaBi memberships. The County does subsidize mass transit and the CHP location is on top of a Metro station, though other large County facilities are not exactly close to Metro.

ParticipantI went through there this morning around 7 and it was pretty sketchy with how narrow that westbound lane is. Terrible sightlines as it was, and now it is even worse because anyone coming west is going to be at least half in the eastbound lane.

ParticipantThere are approximately 900 (slight exaggeration) breweries on or just off the W&OD. They all have clean restrooms, tasty beverages (including water refill), and some have in-house food, while others often have food trucks.

ParticipantIf you were willing to camp, I would have lots of suggestions for you. Otherwise, there are several bed and breakfast options in Loudoun County on some quiet country roads (most of which are gravel, but could be ridden on a road bike with wider tires). Unfortunately, I do not have many paved options either.

You know, with all the rain the next two days the trails might just be a mess. Can’t we tempt you with some Azerbaijani goodies?
Definitely on my radar if trail conditions are slop.

ParticipantBelow freezing temperatures will likely mean a MTB morning for me. Enjoy! And thanks for the inspiration, I do want to stop by Baku Delicious at some point!

ParticipantOooh! This sounds like a delicious ride! I may try to join if the weather is not favourable for mountain biking!

ParticipantOh man! And I feel like I just saw you (even though it was August, I think?)! Glad you are on the mend and ready to get back on the bike. Not much for coffee clubs these days, but if you happen to come through Falls Church, happy to meet up!
