How can I add my rides to *this* calendar?

How did the brakes handle that load?

ParticipantBAH! I hit [like], then hit [dislike] by accident, now I can’t delete the dislike, lol… (Memo to admin…)
Definitely there for the ride, representing Papillon Cycles, shepherding Sue, but can assist with marshaling as needed.
BTW, the part of the route from George Mason to Four Mile Run, passing Barcroft Apartments… is a part of the Pike I have *never* ridden. It is *that* unappetizing, and should be showcased as such. I have always gone down to W&OD via the oh-so-steep Doctors Run connector and George Mason instead.

ParticipantI’m running my Papillon Casual Coffee Ride to Clarendon on Saturday (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/papillon-cycles-goes-to-the-races-tickets-46700990921), and finally actually riding the Challenge Ride Sunday. The gold helmet and full Papillon kit. Will see you there!

ParticipantGood morning all! [Looks up] I’m leading a bike ride through the Custis Saturday morning. Been a few weeks since I last rode the route. Anything else I need to know about?

Agree, disagree? Hmmm.
Per POTUS???
Um, *this* POTUS is hardly a model of fitness, despite his superlatives to the contrary.
And… the only thing that mattered to him about Tour De Trump was that *his* name was on it.
AND (wait for it)… all of us could ride rings around him, even with *this* bike: [ATTACH=CONFIG]17861[/ATTACH] “Too old” my…

Someone started this petition a few days ago after the news of the pedestrian being struck and killed. And while details on that accident are still unclear, it shines a light on how dangerous this intersection continues to be. Sharing here because I didn’t know about the petition until this morning. It’s a shame such a tragedy had to happen.
Signed.

ParticipantHere we go again. The finally-warm weather brings *everyone* out- including the a–h—-.
Megabeth reported a truly scary moment with an a–h— motorist at Hains Point today just for good measure.
(Yes, I’m muzzling my mouth… do I have permission to speak frankly?)

ParticipantSteve O:
Thank you for doing these! I can’t make this one, but definitely a later ride/game this season. Get us a curley W!

I would like to be able to do that, but I already know I will be completely out of it. That, plus I will need to assess the state of my Red Velvet (road bike) beforehand.
Understood perfectly

For the first time since I flew out of the DC area in September 2017, I am happy to announce that I will be returning for a week soon!
I will be flying in on a red-eye Friday night/Saturday morning April 27/28 and flying out on Saturday, May 5.
I will not be bringing Chinook (my Seattle bike) with me, but I left my other road bike (Red Velvet) in Virginia so that I could do some riding while in town (likely after performing some badly needed maintenance on it after 8 months). If I can remember, I will try and grab biking maps for the various cities around here to show everyone so that they can see the variety in approaches to the promotion of cycling in the greater Seattle area (including Bellevue, Renton, Redmond, and Tacoma).
My schedule is somewhat still being figured out, but I plan to attend HDCC, WTFCC, and a few happy hours along with going on some rides with folks during the week. I want to check out some of the new bike infrastructure in the area, too. Biking plans might include gathering footage for a new video that I would use to compare/contrast biking in the DC area with the Seattle area (this is still in the brainstorming phase).
I hope to see y’all in a few weeks!
At the risk of playing hell with your sleep after a red-eye flight (that’s naughty of me, I know)… I have a Papillon shop ride Saturday morning…. but good to see you back!

It’s unfortunate that such with such a great bike lane design EVERYONE feels safe and comfortable away enough from cars to use it. I think the big missed opportunity is that you the pedestrian sidewalk is not nearly as nice of inviting as the bike lane. This should be a lesson to pedestrian and bike trail planning advocate alike- equal consideration of pedestrian and cyclist must be accommodated if we are to make trails that allow for different modes and speed of travel.
Phase II, down to the St. Augustine’s/condo combo & M St, is just now starting. Hope it is not too late for DDOT and the developers to process feedback and improve the next section.
