Since riding in my limited spare time is not one of my goals, I have only a passing interest in Calvinball. If I needed to go there for some other reason, and had some free time, I’d look. If we’re talking about a 10-mile ride to look for it, I’m unlikely to do so.

I thought I saw you bemoaning the fact that there were no Calvin Balls near you, which is why I braved the snow and windchill to hide it there. I figured if it wasn’t at your exact location the Metro could help with its wonderful (kidding) elevators. You were sick at that time, so it would have been easy to miss.

Possibly Steve Mitchell will get it since he lives right there.

The idea was to put it near Friendship themes since it’s the Friendship Calvin Ball.

The original post was on page 13, #130, but someone else pretty much just spelled it out. The pictures will help.

If you do a google maps search for Friendship Heights Park, it will come right up. Without the search you have to go in very close, which might be the case if you were looking for Friendship Blvd.

Gosh! This ended up being much harder and a much longer ride than expected. The hint is attached to the picture and since I was at Georgetown I thought it would be an easy capture at the Trek bike shop “placed at Bill Shatner’s favorite bike shop” after deciding there was probably no one by that name in Freezing Saddles. No luck! I was finally guided to another Trek shop and there we must have had three or four of us working on it for a half hour. It briefly occurred to me that I should just google his favorite bike shop, but I dismissed that thinking he was just too old to be sponsoring anything like that. Wrong! One guy had that hunch and sure enough he does!

That was actually a lot of fun! I got to meet a bunch of bike people and a shop I didn’t know about and we all had fun working on it.

Rats! My tiny brain can’t hold all the transmogrified CBs. I thought the Hobbes had been found! I would have picked it up tonight since there’s a less challenging way to it, but a little dicey with traffic. It would have been kinda on my way and from what I heard Hobbes is Chained there. Maybe tomorrow after work if the weather isn’t too bad. I’ll be at Georgetown. I could have used his Tiger Warmth tonight!
