Participantjust got a massive dose of publicity in boston, Hubway just posted this on facebook:
FREE usage fees ALL DAY tomorrow for Hubway members who show up to City Hall Plaza on a Hubway bike and join Hubway’s Staff, in Tim Johnson’s: Ride On Washington. We’ll be riding with the group as they head out of Boston with the eventual finish in Washington DC (where Capital Bike Share riders will greet them and take them to the finish line). Scheduled to leave at 8:30AM we’ll only ride along for 15-30 mins and then go off to start our day here in Boston. Please wear your Hubway Tshirt or something GREEN (first 10 will get Green Hubway T’s). You’ll need to find me and record your bike #, key fob #, name, and we’ll need a hair sample… kidding, only a finger print, well, we’ll figure it out. Check out the link for details and I hope you can join us in the morning for this special event. Please SHARE with other members. Thanks! http://rideonwashington.org/route-and-schedule/

Participantha yea 90% of my trip is on the WOD which is pretty pleasant to be honest. i take a side trail that drops off right before you enter vienna and it cuts through to a church parking lot and proceed to wolftrap/woodford/old courthouse/gosnell/across 7/to greensboro.
just a little west of you at all times it seems haha.then let’s hope it doesnt rain so you can make it out.

Participantdoes anyone else commute to tysons corner?
i go from shirlington to tysons up the WOD between 7:00-9:30 (id rather stay late than wake up early)
i know it’s not the most bike friendly area…well it’s not at all, but i’ve got an easy route through to my office.
just curious if i should keep my waving hand on the ready.SpokeGrenadeSR
Participant^agreed.
i’m of the stance that as long as the lanes are clear of any oncoming traffic, and you’ve assessed that thoroughly, then proceed. i don’t believe bikes deserve to be under the same laws as cars just because we’re on the same pavement; we’re more pedestrian than car and i know a lot of them walk across the street against lights with no second thoughts, and sometimes more dangerously than a cyclist. in my (still appropriately cautious) world, stop signs are yield signs, and stop lights are stop signs.SpokeGrenadeSR
Participantpassed the long, long, long line of runners today. thankfully i get to go the opposite way but my my i was impressed! i wish all schools did that. when i was in middle school we had the mile run test once a year and that was pretty much it when it came to running for the purpose of running.

You would think the nice weather would make them happy!
That’s a negative there ghost rider, when you’re in a car and can’t experience the weather hugging you, it’s misery.
I support the above thread idea too, but I think posting the tag # publicly is illegal? But I have no basis to that assumption.

Yup, but I will have ridden over 600 miles in the 6 previous days combined with 2-15 hour days in the office. I’m predicting that my legs and brain may have that not-so-fresh feeling. I’ll be there. I’ll be pink.
Somebody bring this guy a bike with a sidecar he can nap in!

ParticipantI would just like to say that I’ll be having a pair of folks from Oregon staying at my place from WarmShowers, and I’ve made it a point to not lose this map so they can use it when they’re here. The amount of detail and area covered on that thing will be excellent for them when they do the tourist thing.

I’ll lend you my rollers if you like.
Thank you for the offer good sir, but I don’t think I have the balance to stay up on rollers for a few hours haha. I used to own a pair from cycleops actually, always felt too tense no matter how much time I spent riding them. But thanks!
And thank you Dirt, that’s really awesome of ya. Good luck on the ride! If I wasn’t working in Herndon I’d try and shoot over for the finish.
