I recently bought the Exploit & I use it for both gravel rides & my everyday commuting (~20 miles), grocery getting, & general getting around. It has a rack, fenders & the whole shebang. I *LOVE* it. It handles great in all conditions & is super comfortable. I wouldn’t say it’s too much for a commuter ride if you’re spending the time & putting the miles on it! Enjoy it & welcome to the Renegade club!

I’m happy to lend you my small-ish bike trailer, but you’ll need a bike with a rear quick-release axle (i.e., not a thru-axle) for the hitch attachment. Let me know if you’d like to borrow it.

I found a large trailer I’m hoping will take the large load of swag I have! Thanks for the offer!

I was all set to make this my first-ever coffee club attendance… even prepared to be a little late to work as a result. Til I remembered I had a conflicting dr’s appt in N. Arlington this morning.

Generally, the starting times of the existing C.C.’s (as shown on the Google Calendar) don’t work well with my necessary office-arrival time of 7:35.
The Shirlington Best Buns Wednesdays would be the ideal C.C. to participate in (right off the path to work) — but the 7:10 start time means I’d arrive, skip any coffee, get 60 seconds to say hi to whoever was on hand exactly right then and then have to leave.
The worst bit is no coffee / socializing in that scenario! Are there any regulars who currently hit the Shirlington gathering, but routinely arrive between 6:30 and 7:00?

Also – are there any folks on routes favorable to Potomac Yard, to consider a coffee club gathering at the Potomac Yard Starbucks?

(BTW — where exactly is the Crystal City Coffee Club meeting point on Tuesdays? The Calendar entry only says: “Bring your coffee or buy it from nearby. Winter location is at Cosi nearby.” Nearby to what??)

I’m with you – it’s a rare day I get to attend coffee club bc of my early start time (I’m at work by 7am!). So even the Georgetown early birds are still a little late for me (gotta get to work by 6:30am to change & get ready). I don’t think anyone is interested in a 5:30 CC. [emoji23]

Thanks! My CX bike has a quick release axle (but no rear rack), so that could work! If I can find one I can use with my Renegade (& then also with my rear rack) that would be awesome! But if not, I’d love to use this.

Anyone have a trailer I can borrow for BTWD? I have to bring a bunch of swag to Rosslyn for the DRT table, (come visit, sign up to get notified when DRT registration opens & get some sweet swag!) but would hate to have to DRIVE to BTWD!!!

Pro tip: Don’t rely on me to save you from fires. Samantha has promised all new life saving challenges this year, but she refused to tell me what they are. In revenge, I outbid her at the last minute at the Maker’s Ball auction.

Totally not cool! Any super-hard challenges this year are Judds fault!

There’s a couple – Walter Reed & 4MR have an LPI for example. I can’t remember the others I have seen. But I customarily advance with them when I’m on bike & hadn’t thought anything of it – it seemed like the safest & appropriate thing to do!
