I will need to roughly take this route next Friday so I can bike into work on BTWD and then get to Thomas Jefferson Middle School to coach a soccer practice. What are the rules for going through Ft. Myers?

So Freezing Saddles did not seem to have much of an impact on overall ridership. Now we have a goal for next year!

Wait, Arlingtonrider got a new bike? Pics or it didn’t happen.

Whoops, I hope that I did not spill the beans on Team Bad Ass Banditos’ secret weapon for winning next year’s freezing saddles.

Just got wonderful news – my building is closed ALL DAY today! It’s a great day to ride a bike! Now, where to go — is anyone riding today?

And yep, the Gnats were out in force last night!

A great day to enjoy your new bike! Have fun!

Let me if I have this right. I believe that the National Park Service has resisted having CaBi stations on the Mall because they will detract from its beauty and getting them to move cones from a sidewalk cutout took major negotiations. However, putting up a huge temporary building and closing a major street in and out of DC, no problem! As far as reaching out to the media, every Sunday Dr. Gridlock lists street closures and other similar events in the Metro section and there was no mention of 15th St being closed in yesterday’s paper. He certainly would have mentioned that if told.

I saw the owner of the pink mustachioed bike this morning going east on the WOD between Shreve and Virginia. I forgot who it is, so failed to say hello.

I heard that there was a severe backup on the 14th Street bridge this morning. I got across fine.

As the person who started this thread and for what it is worth, the response to my question certainly convinced me to not get AAA.

Make sure to build in some extra time at Rosslyn and Ballston–you’re probably not going to want to leave.

Would this be in place of last year’s super heroes?

Thanks Tim. Any word on whether they will limit the timing to non-rush hour?

I know that I am sounding like a grump, but I am not a fan of the organization. They solicit cyclists’ funds and support to create a rails to trail MUP, which is all well and good. However, when the inevitable issue of conflicts on these trails between cyclists and pedestrians arises, it is the cyclists who often get restricted in their use of the trail through arbitrary speed limits, etc. When this happens, the organization that benefited from the cyclists’ funds and support is nowhere to be found.

No cones today. So of course the tourons were using it for the loading and unloading of passengers.

The cones were blocking the ramp today earlier at 6:30 pm.
