The Washington Blvd trail was clear this morning. I’m thinking I’ll continue to skip the Trollheim for the rest of this week. It could get to 80°F during the day and that sucker would still be iced up. Any news to the contrary would be welcome.

Trollheim was surprisingly clear this afternoon (except for a small patch under the bridge). MVT from Georgetown to 4MR was clear.

Tried my best to avert the takeover of our first place standing, but guess they accomplished their goal :(

Not sure if it is the same person, but I have seen a guy riding his gas powered MTB on the WOD approaching Columbia Pike. I believe it is white. You can easily reach 20mph during that section, and he has passed me way faster than that. The exhaust is strong and it makes me nauseous. I have not been able to report him because he immediately switches to the street after Columbia Pike.

Yep, you ran a red light from a full stop at 35th & M St, NW today. We are pleased no one was injured by your negligence.

I cross this intersection during rush hour every day. There is a reason why I go through the crosswalk on foot and not on my bike…

What’s going on with Army Navy Drive? The bike lanes (all except a small segment near the underpass to the country club) disappeared awhile ago when the stripes were ground away. Just this week the surface was chip-sealed.

Are the bike lanes coming back?

I noticed that too… About six months ago, they also decided to extend a bus stop right through the middle of the bike lane, just after the big hill, going southbound. Guess they don’t want bike lanes there.

I used to get back pain all the time. Specially if my ride was hilly. I decided to start tweaking my saddle height and now the back pain is gone. Even a quarter of an inch can make a huge difference.

I thought it was a moped at first, but when I a caught a glimpse when he was turning, I noticed that it was an actual bike. The frame was red, didn’t get a chance to notice the motor, but it was very loud. I hope I don’t see him again.

No helmet? I saw said douchebag on the MVT near Gravelly Point. Ebikes are one thing, but I draw the line at chainsaw power heads.

Yes. No helmet. Brown leatherish jacket. I didn’t know what to do, was not expecting something like that on a MUP. Specially during rush hour

Guy on a modded bike with a motor decided to tail me eastbound on the W&OD just after Route 50 at around 6pm. I couldn’t discern quickly what was going on until he was right on my wheel and I was just about to pass a man with a child on his trailer and I realized the danger of it all. I let him pass and he then proceed going 25mph+ on a crowded trail leaving behind lots of exhaust. I reached him at Columbia Pike when he crossed to Four Mile Run without stopping and took the street instead.

Maybe they want to make bunny hopping a required skill. Babies on strollers can get a first hand experience.

That one time I was struggling at the W&OD going uphill just after George Mason Dr cursing the headwind, cursing my tired legs, barely making it to 15-16mph, when suddenly an older lady in a vintage looking bike passed me with no effort whatsoever. Was she riding an e-bike? Was she not riding an e-bike? The madness.
