ParticipantThe Seneca Ridge Trail and Muddy Branch Trail in Maryland are also good quality, non-technical mountain bike trails. I’ve ridden both a few times.

ParticipantThis morning on 17th between K and L.
Me: I was in the second leftmost lane due to not having the room to merge further right.
You: MD driver passing me at speed by inches in the dwindling left lane due to a parked car in the lane all to get to the red light a second faster. Was that really necessary?
Me: I could have been more calm in my reaction but the finger and curses came out.
You: Screaming at me while driving away because I held you up a second or two in getting to that red light.
Calm down already.

Anyone go the opposite way, taking Holmes Run trail to Filmore to Beauregard/Walter Reed to the FMRT?
I’m not that familiar with the area, but when I ride to Port City, I usually use FMRT/WalterReed/Holmes Run trail, but obviously going the opposite direction on Holmes Run so I’ve never been further north that Filmore.
That is doable. I ride that route pretty regularly and moreso since they closed off the Campus Lane East connection to Dawes.

ParticipantInstead of shaving my legs, I wear sunsleeves. I wonder if it offers the same advantage.

Did he also have a american flag aero material along the sides? That douche did a high speed up the middle pass on the 14th st bridge a couple of months ago.
I’ve run into that guy and can confirm that his attitude is as you describe.

ParticipantA big climb but not terribly difficult is the Catherine Furnace fire road in Shenandoah:

It is a gravel road however but worth the effort.

Is Mt. Weather paved to the top? Or would I have to be prepared for gravel and/or dirt? (not to be confused with being prepared for Dirt, of course).
It is paved all the way across the mountain from Bluemont to Paris and it is a hell of a climb.

I had a fun commute home yesterday. Got stung (by a bee? wasp?) on my lip and while I am thankfully not allergic, I swell up quite extremely.
The exact same thing happened to me while commuting home last year. With 9 miles to go, I was lucky to have a frozen water bottle handy.

ParticipantI’ve found that I get a bit restless riding the same route too much so I endeavor to change my routine. Even when commuting, I have a bunch of different variations on my route home which can take me up hills, through different neighborhoods, and away from the usual track home. The bonus is that I learn to navigate the area better.
