ParticipantThanks guys. I’m not really hurt bad though. I though the hand was the worst of it but it seemed to get a little better over the course of the afternoon while the rib got worse. I’m almost 100% certain rib is not cracked. Not even a bad bruise I think. The fact that my knee might be scraped occurred to me maybe an hour after the fall.
It does hurt to breathe deeply and riding over cracked pavement. Certainly took the wind out of my sails so to speak. I finished with an average speed of 4.0 mph, while usually I can manage 5+. :p

ParticipantThank’s Liz. The knee scrape is just about the size of a quarter. Nothing much to see. I think my hand might get a little colorful. Maybe I’ll post a picture of that.

ParticipantFun day. That Pho soup hit the spot, good call. It was nice to ride with some of you and to meet some of you.

Can I get a clarification on the one mile minimum? Is that one mile per ride, or one mile per day? If one were to make two separate trips of a half mile each in the same day, would they get their 10 points for the day or not?
(asks the person with a 7-11 right at a half mile round trip from home)
Don’t sweat the small stuff. You’re on Team Ten. Yes of course it counts!

ParticipantI’ve put Arrid Extra Dry anti-perspirant cream on the bottom of my feet and between my toes. Dry feet are happy feet.

ParticipantPete Beers is listed on the individual scoreboard but not on a team. By himself he would be in fifth place.

ParticipantYou can enter your ride manually on Strava. They do ask for a start time and duration so you will still be revealing something about your whereabouts. You can fake the start time of your ride if you want, I don’t suppose anyone would object to that. I hope correct date would be entered and of course, correct distance.
If you haven’t yet joined Strava, you might consider using a fake name too. Or you can start a new account.

OK, this is going to be fun. All I need to do is get a bunch of Edible Arrangements (or, alternately, Wonder Bread) sent to my apartment in Bethesda, and request that it be couriered by Rod. I won’t even need to ride at all!

I am stupefied by the combination of luck and idiocy that would let someone flip a car over like that. I wonder if speed was a factor…
I would guess distracted driving.

ParticipantAre you the SOB who dared to approach me from behind while I was just riding along minding my own business? If this is an apology, I accept it. If this happens again I can’t be held responsible for what happens. Be forewarned. 😡
Seriously though. your light and the shadows it casts can make it difficult for riders you overtake and dimming, redirecting downward or turning it off while following might make sense in some situations.
