Conveniently, I currently have a Cannondale Quick in my garage that is not being used. Would you ride a “Large”? Are you interested in a used bike?

It was sold to DKel by Dirt in 2013 and was lovingly maintained until someone’s eye fell upon another bike (and then another and he’s looking at new frames!!!).

Are you interested in home brew equipment?

    Hey all,
Some of the other teams are getting together after work for informal get togethers. Seems like a fun idea.

Reply and let me know what days of the week are good and what days of the week are bad.
Alternatively, we could meet at one of the weekly Coffee Clubs.

    Let us know your thoughts.

Since my commute is opposite (I think) of everyone else’s (I go from Falls Church to Tysons), it would be a little tricky for me. I can get to TMCC (Vienna), but a boy has trumpet practice at 7:30 on Thursdays, which just messes up the time. I could try Wednesday in Shirlington, but it’s still early to get up and late to get to work. Friday at Java Shack is doable, but the boy has full band practice on Friday mornings.

TL; DR – make it an after-work happy hour, in Virginia, on a Thursday, I’m more likely to be able to make it.

I hit up Capital City Brewing Company in Shirlington on Saturday for their “SurviveAle Saison.” It’s a lighter style beer, brewed in connection with Port City and some other local breweries. It’s their “Breast Cancer Awareness beer” with funds going toward breast cancer research. I liked it just fine, but think it’s a little inappropriate to link drinking beer and cancer mitigation. A better pairing for the beer might be heart health. Just sayin’.

    Seriously, I’m taking this seriously.

Gordon Biersch Marzen. The “a” has two dots over it. The beer was really light and good. I would get it again.

I’m really taking this one seriously.

Mad Fox St. Swithen’s ESB. For a beer called “extra special bitter” it was really nice! I would get it again.

I had the Tidings Ale. It was a little spicey, but lovely.

So, hey, say if someone wanted to brew their own beer, would that count? I hear someone has some brewing equipment for sale.

We sent a boarding party of Salty Dogs to Steve O’s team thread. They didn’t know what hit them. Now we are dividin’ up the booty.

Is this game on? I can take out your top performer if he isn’t careful. He might need to take the puppy on a walk, find his riding goggles misplaced…

I’m still 80%, so there’s a possibility I might not make it. Should know by tomorrow. Either way, how about meeting at the Bluemont caboose, allowing PP to triangulate in? From there it’s about 7 miles (according to Google) via Glen Carlyn, etc. & Holmes Run. If we depart at 10, should be there in plenty of time.

    The caboose it is!

Sure. Tell him to meet us at the caboose at 10:30. :)

Oooh, good thinking. He’ll never know! 😎

I’m offended that your team name denigrates bollards. I know some bollards and they are very nice people. Why do want to bust them? My feelings are quite hurt.

Sigh. At least our team is out riding (um, when it isn’t like, snowy or icy) rather than arguing about dogs or dawgz.

Hey – I’m probably in for the Pints ride on Saturday, I don’t have anything else that day. Let me know where we should meet up. Can I bring a friend? He might possibly be on another team.

I’m planning to take off Monday from work (slave drivers I work for don’t believe in Federal holidays). So long as the weather is nice, I might be up to going out on a ride.

I was on the W&OD for only a very short while – it was frosty and a little slippery around 8:30 between Railroad Ave. and Virginia Ln in Falls Church. I quickly got back on the road. I think I might need to figure out how to get my bike on the bus to get home tonight… I don’t want to risk the ice in the dark.

    Thanks Steve!

Hi Pete and the other team members!

I am Rockford 10 – Kathleen. I live in Falls Church and commute to Tysons when I can (the snow and ice are a no-go through ffx county) (sorry). I do longer rides on the weekend when life isn’t so complicated – this past weekend was a disaster! Riding around the neighborhood to get in 2 miles at 9 pm isn’t much fun.

It is possible they know me at Arrowine for my Taleggio habit. I ride so that I can drink wine and eat cheese.

I’m married to someone on another team. We can chat about trash talking later.

I’ll be leaving Tysons a bit after 5, getting to the Gallows intersection at maybe 5.20 if I take the long way.

As I have a previous engagement Friday night (which continues into Saturday morning), I won’t be able to attend. Perhaps other Tysons-ers can represent?! People could even Metro out to Tysons and then bike all the way to happy hour? Find new things in the Gallows bike lane that haven’t previously been reported?

It’s all downhill from Tysons to Shirlington, it will be sweet. It’s the back, uphill, after a beer or two, that’s the problem…

I’m in – did I actually say that before? I will be coming from Tysons at about 5:30 or so and will hit Shirlington at about 6:30. If anyone wants to ride East, we could do the easiest possible convoy ever.
