Getting to Nationals Park – I’ve never ridden there, only driven past on the way to other pursuits. From Takoma Google maps wants me to take the MBT to Union Station, then east on F St , south on 4th St SE and then west again along the riverwalk to the stadium. Any thoughts on the merits or demerits of that route?

I’ve volunteered to be a marshall so I’m thinking a badge and spurs maybe? A six gun would be frowned on in the city I’m thinking.

Major LOL. I opened the forum to post that very same link from BB and found your post. Someone must have had a nasty intersection with a pothole somewhere. Guess I should just post the link to the life size Lego X Wing Fighter.

Here’s a cool light concept. It projects a grid on the ground, which will be parallel lines when the ground is flat, and curved or deformed lines when there are bumps. Seems like it might take a bit of getting used to, but once you were used to it you could get a much better idea of how flat the ground is in front of you.

Like that well known exercise in wretched excess known as BikeFest perhaps? :p

Discovery Plaza in Silver Spring was busy at 8am and 8:45 this morning ( pre and post breakfast at Zeds’ Coffee shop ) . Silver Cycles was offering free bike tune ups, assorted county officials were touting money appropriated for the MBT & Bike Share, the DJ was blasting away and lots of other booths of all stripes attracted and held a good turn out.

Stopped by Blair Plaza pit stop about 7:50 and there were a few people but it’s a first time stop this year so they are on the upswing.

Bike to Work Day – an ideal opportunity to put together some ongoing morning or afternoon commute get togethers for after BTWD. I’ll be at the Blair shopping center around 7:30 and Discovery Plaza about 8 am checking in with the Silver Cycles folks ( gotta support those local businesses after all ). Hope to meet some forum denizens or make some new ones.

Suffering for science, what a hero! Thanks. Sorry about the lens getting scratched. Maybe Carlie Rea ( wasn’t that the original spammer?) can hook you up with a Chinese cam.

That does sound like a long ride. What route are you taking? I don’t often go all the way to Alexandria but I often ride from TP to downtown and the Mall.

Anyone going that route :)? I’m not very fast (newbie-ish). Takes me about an hour and 45 mins.

The foxes & vultures ( who are after all just earning a living while performing their public service duties ) seem a bit put out at your sentiments.
